For the past few months, I've been on a pregnancy program to have the child we've been dreaming of for so long. All foods recommended by friends, family and even doctors, we do in an effort to get pregnant. We started from foods that have a lot of good nutrition for the body in the form of vegetables and fruit. Especially for fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber, amino acids and folic acid.
Folic acid is very influential on the pregnancy program, sufficient folic acid for married couples is very likely for the success of the pregnancy program. After a lot of searching for a list of foods that have high nutrition and folic acid, I found an interesting fact about pumpkin, this made me interested in consuming it.
Pumpkin is very easy to get in the market, because pumpkin has high folic acid just like spinach and broccoli, pumpkin can be used as a variety of foods that are not monotonous like other vegetables. But, unfortunately, I don't really like the texture of the pumpkin. So I searched a lot for recipe references to process pumpkin.
The price of pumpkin is also very affordable in Indonesia, I've heard that vegetables and fruit are very expensive abroad, such as Australia, Europe, America and various other countries. Including the price of pumpkin, I have also seen the price of imported pumpkin at a price tens of times higher than the price in Indonesia. Just so you know, the price of pumpkin is around 5000 rupiah per kilogram, very cheap, isn't it?
But this time I do not want to discuss the price of pumpkin. I want to discuss how to make pumpkin more interesting than any other recipe. This recipe is guaranteed to be very tasty and easy. If you know that pumpkin can be used as klepon. Klepon is a typical Indonesian food, has a sweet taste and melts in the palm sugar filling that will make your mouth feel pampered.
Making pumpkin klepon is very easy, the main function of pumpkin is as a carbohydrate that will make klepon softer as a mixture of glutinous rice flour. The materials used are also not difficult to find.

Ingredients:
- 250 gr glutinous rice flour
- 250 gr pumpkin
- Vanilla extract
- 20 grams of sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 200 gr palm sugar
- Water to boil
- Pandan leaves
- 200 gr grated coconut
How to make pumpkin klepon:
- Heat the steamer, while waiting for the steam to be hot, peel the pumpkin and weigh as much as 250 gr. Then steam the pumpkin until completely soft.
- Weigh the glutinous rice flour and mix it with the pumpkin, using a spatula because the pumpkin is very hot. Enter some of the mixture such as vanilla extract, sugar and salt according to the measure.
- After the dough is well mixed, heat water in a pan, add pandan leaves for aroma.
- Cut the palm sugar for the filling, set aside.
- Shape the dough into a round, put palm sugar filling in the middle of the klepon dough, close it until it is solid and does not have holes.
- Put the klepon into hot water, pay attention to the floating klepon, indicating that the klepon is cooked. Lift and drain.
- Give grated coconut with a little salt, then mix the cooked klepon dough with grated coconut. Serve for as family dessert dish.
