I have been on a health kick lately. I have lost about 30 pounds since moving to California October of 21.
I haven't really done anything all that radical. I've been sleeping better and eating better for sure. Stress had a lot to do with bad eating habits. That's mostly non-existent these days. Funny, going from a stress fueled life to an almost 100% absence of said stress. It's a whole new vibe.
I can't say I've cut out all junk food but, I have made a considerable dent into not consuming as much. I've been eating more veggies than I have in probably decades. Also, I try to make a morning smoothie chock full of fruit. I know Chocolate Almond milk is not like, super healthy. I can't do moo cow milk any more so this is at least something, right? Baby steps and all that.
I noticed that when I was doing the fruit and salads every day, I wasn't really getting sick. I did sort of slack off the good stuff for awhile. I've been eating processed garbage again. Between the two and my roommate being a 2nd grade teacher, the creeping crud ahs returned with a vengeance. I noticed I have gotten sick and it is lingering around. So...
Back to the healthy regimen. I'm hoping all those good blueberry anti-oxidants will swoop in and clean house again.
I much prefe being healthy. Sure meal prep is more involved. It is certainly worth a lil more heavy lifting in the end
Today's smoothie:
Green grapes (about 7 or 8) This was a cotton candy variety
1 green apple
1 green pear
1 handful of spinach leaves.
Green tea and ice to desired thickness.
Blend and enjoy.
It tastes like spring or something.
