Splinterlands — Dragons vs Quora

Hello everyone, welcome 👋, I want to show you one of my battles, using only bronze cards in the modern format.

Since the earthquake ruleset will be active, I decided to use martyr monsters (with 2 and 4 health), so that when they are defeated by the earthquake effect or by enemy monsters, they strengthen their adjacent allies.

And the Dragons, of course, will be on the battlefield, since they mostly have the ability to fly, so they cannot be damaged by the earthquake. These dragons (shown in the cover image) will face Quora Towershead, who becomes stronger each time she defeats a monster.

Let's see who won the battle:

Only the earthquake ruleset will be active in the battle, which deals 2 melee damage to non-flying monsters, at the end of each round.

I decided to use Akane (Dragon summoner), which allows me to decide to give the Lookout ability to one monster or the Ambush ability to two monsters. I opted for Ambush, which allows my chosen monsters to attack in the Ambush round (before the battle begins).

In the first position, Hill Giant, which although it has no abilities at this level, for a 3 mana creature it has good hit points, which allows it to resist some attacks.

In the second position, Pallus, my first flying monster in the lineup, allowing it a 25% chance to evade melee and ranged attacks from non-flying monsters. And thanks to having the Reach ability, it can attack from this position even if it is a melee monster.

In the third position, Venari Marksrat, who when defeated, its martyr ability will activate, causing its adjacent allies to gain +1 to all stats.

In the fourth position, Rage, the card that currently has the highest mana cost in the game, 16 which is a lot. This Dragon has pretty good stats and, like many dragons, has the Flying ability. Additionally, it takes reduced damage from magic attacks by 50% (rounded up), thanks to its Void ability.

In the fifth position, Fungus Flinger, another monster that has the martyr ability in my lineup. Thanks to this, upon being defeated it will give another +1 to all stats to its adjacent allies.

And in the last position, Redwyrm Dragon, which may not have a great attack for a 9 mana dragon, but it has good armor and will not take damage from the earthquake effect thanks to its Flying ability. And this Dragon is immune to negative effects such as poison.

My opponent also played the same martyr monsters that I used, in the same position. On the enemy side, Quora benefited from them. She was very strong, but because my dragon had 7 armor (from martyr effects), and the Void ability, it could withstand her attacks.

Having my summoner give the Ambush ability to my Dragons was a huge advantage as they dealt a total of 6 magic damage to the frontline enemy monster, before the battle began. With the help of my martyr monsters, the Rage dragon was able to obtain up to a total of 6 magic attack, and Redwyrm 3, which Quora could not resist and was defeated.

This battle ended with the victory of the dragons, who where the only ones who survived.
