Alexander's Strip

Hello my friends, photo lovers.

Do you like to observe celestial phenomena? Especially when they are unusual and rare. I once saw a double rainbow. I was lucky to have a camera at hand at that moment. And I captured that moment.

It happened one evening, after another rain, a giant rainbow unfolded over the southeastern part of the sky.
An impressive sight, especially the difference in the color of the sky inside the rainbow and outside attracts attention.
Upon careful examination of this phenomenon (as far as the apartment window allowed), a second arc was also noticed.

The contrast of the sky is even more noticeable here (not even noticeable, but generally striking).
It is no wonder that our ancestors confidently deified such heavenly beauty. Is this possible without supernatural intervention? A brick five-storey building against the background of a rainbow looks shabby and primitive (despite such a variety of balcony aesthetics).

It is a pity that such a phenomenon can only be observed early in the morning or late in the evening, when the sun is hanging low above the horizon.

Note that in the secondary rainbow, the colors are arranged in reverse order. Have you noticed this before? I will finish you off with physics - the band between the first and second rainbows was described 1800 years ago by the Greek scientist Alexander of Aphrodisia and is called in his honor "Alexander's Strip" (now you can show off your knowledge on occasion).

It happened to me once in my life. And I did not observe this phenomenon anymore. Perhaps I will still have the opportunity to admire the double rainbow. And maybe you'll be lucky too. And you will also see the "Alexander Strip". Good luck to all of you and have a nice day!

Are there three rainbows?

I don't know. I have not met))

Wow, that's so neat. Double rainbows are cool and bring wonder wherever they appear.
