This plant has fruit that is usually harvested before it is completely ripe, which is usually used as a vegetable. The fruit, which has the scientific name Cucumis sativus L, can grow well in fertile and loose soil with sunlight and high air humidity. This plant is a weak plant or half vine and is a seasonal plant. The first flower will be produced at the age of 4 to 5 weeks.

The shape of the fruit is elongated with green characteristics with yellowish white stripes when it is young and when it gets ripe, the color of the fruit turns pale green to white. The fruit can be up to 30 centimeters long and contains a lot of liquid when young.

For some people, cucumber is considered a vegetable but from a botanical point of view, cucumber is classified as a type of fruit because cucumber develops through flower fertilization and contains seeds.

Behind the difference of opinion whether he is a fruit or not, in fact cucumber has a number of benefits that are good for the body and even beauty.

There are many nutrients, minerals, vitamins that are efficacious for health and beauty, including Energy, Protein, Carbohydrates, Fat, Fiber, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Pridoxine, Thiamine, Vitamins A, C, E, K and so on.

So because of the above content, this fruit is very beneficial for health. Among the benefits are maintaining dehydration, lowering blood pressure, eliminating bad breath, reducing dark circles in the eyes, refreshing the skin, overcoming dry skin, helping reduce wrinkles, reducing dark spots, overcoming acne, strengthening hair and nails, preventing diabetes, losing weight, reducing bad breath, launching bowel movements, containing antioxidants and many others.

Although cucumbers offer many benefits, they also have side effects so don't overdo it. The presence of toxins such as cucurbitacins and tetracyclic triterpenoids in cucumber is indeed a cause for concern. Cucumber seeds contain innate diuretic properties, resulting in excessive fluid excretion from the body, thus inhibiting electrolytic balance. Another side effect is due to the vitamin C content in it that if ingested in large amounts will act like a pro-oxidant against its innate anti-oxidative properties. This triggers the growth and spread of free radicals, resulting in a higher risk of cancer, acne, premature aging, and so on.

Furthermore, due to the potassium content, overconsumption of potassium can worsen over time and effectively inhibit kidney function. The high water content can also be a negative effect as high water intake leads to higher net blood volume. This puts pressure on the blood vessels and heart. As a result, the heart and blood vessels will suffer damage.

Another negative thing is that cucumbers contain an ingredient called cucurbitacin. This element can trigger indigestion in certain people, if they have a sensitive digestive system that will trigger flatulence. For those of you suffering from sinusitis it is advisable to avoid eating cucumbers.

That's a little about a plant or fruit called cucumber. Hopefully it's useful and you like it. I say goodbye, hopefully we can meet next time. Thank you for everything. Greetings from nature lovers.
