Last month I realized I was spending a bit more time on Twitter, this was majorly because that is where the early web3 news (alpha) is located. So I decided to rather than just lurking in the shadows and being a consumer why not try to contribute and grow my account? Perhaps I could gain some following and even bring more eyes over here.
And so it began. I wasn't sure where to start but I was sure I would have to create a new account. My old account had over a thousand followers but they were so diverse, I knew the algorithm wouldn't favour my posts. Also, I needed something fresh to be able to curate my feed properly. The goal was to build a brand around sharing web3 knowledge as I've found I'm quite familiar with a lot of things in the space and a lot of people (even those who use web3 services every day) aren't really conversant with a lot of things.
I had no idea how building a brand works, but lack of knowledge has never stopped me. I had to do some research and I did and before long I set up the account @b0sofweb3. Knowing myself, I knew it'd be hard to commit so I hard to make myself commit by buying the checkmark. I don't like to waste resources so the checkmark motivates me.
It's been a decent first month, the strategy was to engage with a lot of people in the same niche get them to follow me, get familiar with me, and write quality content perhaps some of their followers will follow me as well. So far, it has been working to a degree. Though the number of big accounts I've gotten to follow me are few, accounts around my range have been following me. Once in a while use the piggyback method (make a very early engaging comment on an influencer's post). The checkmark gives me a lot more reach and I generally get lots of views and engagements on those tweets, but I've found those don't convert as many followers. Perhaps I need to find better comment sections? I am still optimizing that part.
I am currently on 205 followers after the first month. Could have sworn they were more, but the follower count keeps fluctuating. One of my plans was to work towards getting to 500 followers this month and then monetize, but now there's been some adjustments to the policies so will just get there and see what happens.
I find this whole thing exciting, sort of like starting out on hive again for the first time. Looking forward to seeing where this takes me. Maybe in a year from now, I could be an influencer. For now, it's just to stick to my content. Your support is appreciated. Here's a look at my analytics for anyone who likes to look at numbers
I love the bookmark stat cause it means people actually find my work useful and save it for future use.
