Starlink might soon come to India

in #hive-16352118 hours ago

The Internet has seen a lot of evolution in the last two decades. Especially in India communication is getting better and better day by day. There used to be a time when some of the remote villages in India wouldn't even get a power supply. Today almost all the villages have a power supply or at least a facility to generate the power they want. Similarly, the Internet is reaching out to even remote villages in India. Some of the biggest companies are trying to populate in cities that are not metropolitan. This is a good thing because metropolitan cities are becoming heavily crowded.

Air fiber internet

I thought that the internet through Air fiber itself is a great innovation where we can achive the internet through wireless communication. Earlier there used to be a normal telephone cable internet where we had to dial up and get the internet connectivity. I have used that during my school days in my friend's house. After that, the regular internet connection was given, and then came the Fiber internet which was very fast compared to the regular internet and it was not initially affordable for everyone. Then it was made affordable for everyone.

Today I'm surprised to see the Air Fiber internet where there are no wires in the street or no more digging in the streets. The internet comes from the nearby towers. This internet is 5g internet and it can also switch to 6g internet in the future. This is what I heard.

Starlink is next level

Recently when my aunt came here for vacation from the US, that is when I came to know about Starlink and I was surprised. Internet from satelite is an amazing thing and the coverage will be excellent. I'm not sure if this will need any tower type of setup or if we can access it from anywhere. But it will be excellent if we can access this from anywhere. Currently, the data we pay on mobile is very costly and the mobile operators have kept it that costly just to meet the demands.

If we get Starlink and let's say our device is registered with the satellite and it can be accessed from anywhere, it will be awesome. I would like to witness such things in my lifetime. I know for a fact that there have been so many advancements in the last 20 years, so this can become a reality in another 10 years or so. This way even if I'm in a remote place where I see only the sky at the top of my head, I should still have network connectivity on my device. The only thing that I should worry about should be the charge on my device. Even for that, there will soon be more innovations.

Currently Starlink is not available in India and they are awaiting regulatory permissions to have it in India. I'm sure even if the government allows, it all these existing big shots like Jio and Airtel won't allow that because their business will be affected because of this. Hope we see Starlink soon in India.

I heard only positive things on starlink, seems fast and reliable. I hope for you that you can get it

It will really be a massive development if they are finally able to come to India looking at the population of India

I wonder what the monthly fee for Starlink is - I think it will be much more than the mobile operator. 🤷‍♂️
But it's great that you won't be dependent on wires and mobile phone towers!
