I thought it was only me but I spoke to some of my clients in other parts of the world too and they also felt a lot of difference in the climate in general. I was starting to wonder if we are seeing the effects of global warming. We know that we are creating a lot of bad for the ecosystem. I even spoke to some of my clients from other countries, who also mentioned that they see a difference in their usual weather.
I don't know why but maybe I'm starting to notice the winter weather only this year because I don't remember experiencing it as this cold last year. In our office environment, due to air conditioning system the temperature is reduced. But if we want to come out and see, we can understand that the temperature is better outside compared to the inside temperature.
Cold beyond sweaters
In my place the temperature is usually only 27 degrees and that itself feels very cold. It usually happens during the winter season and mostly night time is around that temperature. If we wear sweaters, we will still be able to find cold beyond the sweaters. This is an unusual thing. We usually find it cold but only a little bit. Not beyond this point.
I'm finding it very hard to travel back home from the office on my bike. I remember how hot it becomes during the summer season but now the winter season is very extreme. To take care of ourselves during this extreme weather, it is good to follow a few things. The first one would be to have proper clothing. My client from Germany used to tell me that the weather is not affecting us but the incorrect clothing is what makes it hard to survive in the cold weather.
Crops are also changing
Due to the extreme weather conditions, we have a super cold winter which has led some of the farmers to try out crops that are not usual to the region. There are places where Strawberry is being cultivated. Earlier it was the case that we needed high cold temperatures to grow strawberries but now in places like Pondichery, strawberry farming is becoming popular.
Apart from the varieties of strawberries, we get from other cold places in India, we are also getting strawberries from Pondichery. There have been records of snowfall in the Chennai region several decades back. Hope the weather conditions keep changing and one fine day we might as well see snow here. The only problem with such weather change is that there might be some living beings that get affected because of this.
