I can't say this enough. No! Truth be told, I don't say this enough, and it is sad. Yes, a pity it is that after everything they go through in life, they are not well recognised as they should.
What makes a man? There are tons of things that make a man in our society, and I have to say it burns me deeply to say what none says a man should be cared for. Instead, it shows what a man should not be afraid of or squint his eyes in the face of responsibility.
A man must put the feelings of others first because that's one of the things that makes him a real man, a gentleman. A man mustn't cry because real men don't do that. He should be able to tame his emotions and be logical at all times.
Strictly by society, a man is meant to protect, especially in times of trouble. Imagine a hurricane out there, and a man would put himself outside to deal with it to protect the people that surround him. A man can not be a wimp. He must be bold enough to stand the fiery pits of hell, and is that not how life is for them?
The weight of responsibility on a man, especially in my part of the country, is brutal. If you are the first son of a home where your family you came from are averagely okay, you still need to pull your pants up and hustle and if the family you came from solely relies on you, the burden accumulates a big deal and still, you can't complain. No, you mustn't complain. How sad!
Most times, when my thoughts wander to life, men have to live, I am amazed each time I see a man happy. How do you guys do it despite life challenges?
Many men out there have killed any sort of romance in them with strenuous work. The thought that they must make it to provide not for themselves but their family overrules any other thoughts.
Even without the presence of pictures or the media, men have always done the needful. Places some of them work is pitiable but they don't mind because it pays not much but still, it's something. There's never a season of rest for a man and... and it is just so sad that after the tough responsibilities carried every month, the end of the year and the beginning of a new one still meets them working.
I could have said Dax music is cruel, but that's a lie. It is the world of men that's cruel. It hurts so much what every man has to go through each day, hour, minute, and second.
...and I hope the world won't be so damn demanding of them this much. They are hardly celebrated, and it may look like they don't mind, but that's a big fat lie. They are meant to be loved and celebrated each day. To be reminded of feeling those emotions... those sweet juicy ones they deserve. The pamper they ought to be given each day because their mental health matters. What they go through is hellish because they aren't meant to speak about how they feel because no one cares, right?
No?
Sighs
So, if you are a man, please show your emotions. Cry if it hurts. Don't hold it in, please... say it hurts, please, share your pain. Save your mental health, please... please don't. Don't let the rules of society or the world tame your emotions.
This is why I do hope you find your person. The person who truly listens because they care, someone you can bear your heart to, someone who is yours to stay forever because it's a lonely road... to be a man. So, don't be lonely. Love and be open to being loved. I know reality may say otherwise, still, don't let your world be sucked into its cruelty.
I know. There's a lot I'd like to say, but sadly, words aren't enough to convey how I feel. To every man out there....You are awesome and deserve so much love and attention.
Happy International Men's Day.
