I found something that caught my attention—a cluster of small white mushrooms growing under dry leaves that were starting to rot. After getting closer, I realized that these mushrooms were Marasmiellus candidus, a species of small mushroom that often grows in humid environments with lots of decaying organic matter.
The size of this mushroom is very small, no more than 1 cm in diameter. However, its beauty is seen from its perfect shape, like a small, pure white umbrella. Its stem is thin and fragile, but it provides a graceful balance to the body of this mushroom. I used a macro lens to capture every detail, including the fine texture of its cap which is almost transparent when exposed to sunlight from a certain angle.
What is interesting about this mushroom is its ability to survive in humid conditions but with minimal sunlight, such as under piles of leaves. This shows its role as a natural decomposer that helps return nutrients to the soil. While photographing it, I also observed small insects crawling around this mushroom, indicating that this mushroom may also be part of the food chain in this small ecosystem.
