We all need to commute from one point to the other for certain reasons and in doing so, we would need different types of transport media and vehicles, to help us get there.
My worse experience with a transportation vehicle happened to me with the most common transport medium which is land transport.
That fateful day, I was on my way back home from work at about 4:30pm. I was walking to the motor park to board the usual vehicle (danfo bus) that I regularly patronize but for some curious reasons tht day, I decided to be adventurous.
I decided to board a different bus popularly called "molue" which was a forty-four passenger bus as compared to my regular sixteen passenger bus. My thoughts were to experience a new ride but how wrong I was. Not only did they cramp us up like sardines, the bus driver and conductor still took in more passengers for standing.
We were eighty-eight already seated while there were about some forty something persons still standing. The standing passengers blocked the flow of air and I was just so uncomfortable.
The hands of some standing passengers hit my head from time to time, whenever the bus encountered a pot-hole. I was so angry that I wanted to tear the conductor to pieces but I settled for loud hissing and sighs as a good child😜.
The bus conductor still collected the same transport fare from all the passengers irrespective of whether they were seated or standing. What a disgusting service! After that day, I promised myself never to take such transports again.
For my best experience with a transportation vehicle, I can clearly recall that it was with water transport. My aunt had taken me along with her for a visit and she decided to beat traffic and opted for speed boat ride. We took the ferry from Mike 2 area to Victoria Island.
I confess that I was scared silly because of my fear of water but my aunt's confidence gave me a boost plus I didn't actually look down as the boat moved or else I would have become "fish food".
The boat ride was hassle free and in only a few minutes, we arrived at the designated ferry point. My aunt and I came down from the boat and we headed to where she was going. The boat ride was the best for me so far as there was no traffic encountered, no overloading of passengers and of course no smell of smoke fumes. Despite the enjoyable ride, I still prayed deeply that she wouldn't ask me to join her for another boat ride home 😂😂.
The boat ride was fun, now that I think about it but my phobia for water is still there.
Thank you all for reading. This is my response to the #februaryinleo initiative for day 4.
