Compliments of the season to you all.
In a matter of a few days, the year 2024 will be closing off and stepping aside for 2025 to come in. But there are a lot of things that happened in 2024, that are noteworthy. I learnt a lot this year and I am very happy to say that I am not where I was in 2023. I have grown in all ramifications and I am so grateful for that. Some major lessons I learnt in 2024 are:
#1. The art of gratitude
This year was tough I must confess but even at that, I was able to navigate my way through it every day. Believe me, it was no small feat. Many people gave up this year. Sone decided to throw in the towel and commit suicude due to how nuch challenges they had to face. This was and is not my case. I and my entire family did quite well this year and looking back now in retrospect, I am so grateful for how far we have come.
#2. Resilience
I learnt how not to give up on what I want to achieve neither to give up on my goals. The year taught me to keep grinding and doing my best as always at what I do and never to give up, irrespective of the prevalent challenges both culturally and economically.
#3. Value my relationships
I have formed beautiful and genuine relationships over time but this year, I really learnt how to cherish the relationships formed. This year, I have witnessed first hand how friends rose up for my defence. I received immense favours due to the connections of some of my friends. I had lucky breaks this year due to the insightfulness of some of my friends. I am so grateful to every one of my genuine friends both offline and online.
I also learnt how to mamage my resources well. Most especially my finances. This year, there was a sharp increase in the prices of goods and services that it became a troubling experience everytime I visited the market. I would buy a particular item for a certain amount one day only to return to the market for that same item later and find it three times the previous price. So managing my finances was a must do for me.
I also have good memories in this year as well. I recall receiving so many goodies and favours that sometines I look at myself and marvel cos I know that I did nothing extra to deserve it. In this year alone, a grateful parent bought me a pair of shoes, simply to appreciate my services. I also received a beautiful ankara dress from a friend of mine with no prior notice. I was given a brand new wrist watch as a thank you gift and just recently, my little brother sent me some foodstuffs that I really needed, without me asking for it.
So far, I am very grateful for life and sound health that I enjoyed rhis year. Not only for myself but also for everyone in my family. I am also grateful for safety. I am thankful for the growth I have come to enjoy so far in my life personally and I am more thankful for the genuine relationships that I have come to cherish more and more each day.
Thank you all for reading... Shalom
