Greetings to you all.
I love dogs and I would have loved to own one as a pet but my busy schedule doesn't afford me the time to take care of one as a pet nor to raise it and so I am left with admiring my neighbours pet. Sometimes when I am not so busy, I play with the dog and its puppies.
Thirty-three days ago, my neighbour's dog gave birth to two puppies (November 1st precisely) but after five days, the younger puppy died leaving only the older puppy. When I asked my neighbour what caused the death of the younger puppy, he said it was due to it not getting enough nutrition in its mother's womb. He also said that the major part of the nutrients were absorbed by the elder puppy. Hmm, this was eye opening for me as I had only ever read about it in human pregnancies when it concerns multiple births but this was the first time I heard of such with animals.
Nonetheless, it's been a month and some days now and the surviving puppy is all grown up. He can now make a little (whoof) bark, strut around, bite everything in sight and eat semi- solid foods.
Today, I came back home early to quickly pick up some stuff before heading out for tutorials and guess who welcomed me home....... it was the newest puppy on the block and his name is Leo.
I think Leo is a mixed breed dog as it doesn't look like its mother at all. Their furs are different, so is their colour tone. I think I like Leo's fur and colour more than its moms's. The only odd thing I observed wass that Leo liked to sleep a lot. After a few minutes of physical activity, it would look for a cool place to sleep off and here I always thought all puppies were overly active.
I think I'm going to get Leo a aoft ball toy for him to play with, maybe that would increase his fitness or maybe I'm just overthinking things and this is just how his daddy's lineage behaves. They sleep all day 😁.
Thank you all for reading..shalom
