Hello everyone, greetings! 🙌

Tourism is one of the avenues that my country gets its revenue from as there are many beautiful places to see and sights to explore. Some of the tourist centers have deep historical heritage that leaves tourists amazed and happy while some tourists centers have deep connections to nature, leaving the tourists refreshed, rejuvenated and happy.

I will start with the ones in my city where I reside and then we will explore the ones around several places in my country. Now first on my list is the …

1.Badagry beach and the place of no return.

Badagry beach is one of the oldest in the city of Lagos and it is also one of the most visited as well. I am also a regular at the beach because of its allure. It is a really beautiful and serene place except for times of festivities when it would be crowded with several families who seek to have a great family time. The beach is also renown for its abundance of coconut trees with the coconut fruit harvested and sold to customers for enjoyment.

Also at Badagry, we have the first ever one storey building built by the early Missionaries of the Church Missionary Society (C.M.S) in 1842 and it is still standing till date. There is also the slave trade centre for slaves with all the iron equipments previously used for slave trade back in the day.

Then you have the place of no return which is a known waterside that connects to the Atlantic ocean and history has it that it was the point where slaves were carried off to several Western countries in boats and ships .

2.National theatre park.

The national theatre park is a place for relaxation and enjoyment. It was initially built as a place for dramatisation and stage performances but soon it evolved to become a place where families can come to sit, relax and enjoy themselves. With the beautiful trees and flowers designing the whole place, one cannot help but appreciate the beauty of nature. It is also a great place for picnics. This park is located in Lagos State, Nigeria.

3.Obudu Mountain Resort.

The Obudu Mountain Resort formerly called Obudu cattle ranch is a popular tourist centre in my country visited for its rich cultural heritage and natural allure. It is located on the Obudu Plateau in Cross River State, Nigeria. It receives an influx of international and local tourists yearly due to its serene climate amongst other things.

4.Olumo Rock

Olumo Rock is a fundamental cultural fortress located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. During the 19th century, it served as a refuge and protection base for the *Egba tribe when war broke out. The rock is also a popular tourist destination, standing at about 137 metres above sea level. It is greatly esteemed by the local tribe as they do not fail to narrate the events of warfare as told to them by their ancestors and how the rock played a role in keeping them safe

5..Apapa Amusement Park

Apapa amusement park is a lovely recreational destination centre flocked by tourists who want to have a swell time or family bonding time. I recall visiting this amusement park as a child several times and I hold dear memeories of that place. I'm so glad that the park is still being maintained till date. As a child, there were so many amenities for fun and relaxation that I usually begged my dad to take me there every year during Christmas or New year's day.

Other tourist destinations centres include;

6.Also Rock

  1. Kanji Dam and the kanji national park

8.Lekki Conservation Centre and more.

All these places I mentioned are all beautiful tourist destinations for your enjoyment.

Thanks for reading..Shalom.

Ok 👍

"Place of no return?"
You mean no one ever visits there and return safely? Hahaha 😀 that was what came to my mind.
Wow, the C.M.S building is very old. 1842 is such a long time to this moment and seeing the building still standing strong is awesome. I guess the builders did a fantastic job there.

Yes I guess so too. The building is really fascinating.

The place of no return got its name from the fact that once slaves were put in a ship and the ship sails off, they could never return back to their origins. It is either they willingly submit or they are thrown into the sea.
