If you've visited my page in recent times, you'll know that I'm quite bullish about the success of Travala. It is one of the projects with real utility that I believe will eventually explode sometime in the future.
For anyone that's not familiar with the project, Travala is a crypto based travel agency that enables you to pay for a variety of products with crypto. At the time of writing, users of Travala can easily pay for most travel products with over 50 cryptocurrencies supported by Travala.
Users of Travala can also make payments using the local currency of travala called AVA. When you pay with AVA, you receive discounts if you're a smart member.
Smart members are basically people who decide to lock up or stake AVA token. When you stake AVA, you agree to keep it locked for a 30-day period, after which, you have full access to it.
At the time of writing, you can lock a minimum of 50 AVA that offers a 3% discount for full payment with AVA and a maximum of 2500 AVA that offers 10% loyalty rewards and higher ranking in governance vote. The higher your tier of AVA staked, the more votes you have in voting for proposals.
About hive
This publication is on Hive, so people on the network will already know what it's about. However, considering that it will also be reaching people in the community, I figured it is important to also include a short explainer.
Hive is a DPOS blockchain is home to a variety of web 3 social media platforms, play to earn games and financial applications. Thanks to the social side of the blockchain, I'm able to publish on a second layer social platform called leofinance but the publication also sows up on other front-ends.
Transactions on hive are technically free, since you don't have to pay outright for "gas fees". On hive, each account has time-based rechargeable resource credit that is based on the amount of hive that the account stakes.
Publishers on hive earn a variety of cryptocurrencies and tokens. This publication, for example, will be shown on five different front-ends and the Hive top layer. Earning from publication is based on stake-based voting from a reward pool that is determined by the current state of the wider crypto market.
Other than the social front-ends, there is also Splinterlands which is one of the biggest and most played blockchain game in the land. Splinterlands has two main tokens; SPS is the governance token and DEC the reward you receive from winning ranked battles.
Splinterlands and leofinance are just two of a number of projects thriving on hive. If you explore the blockchain, you'll find that there are a lot of other useful opportunities within the community. You can signup for free with any of the options here here.
Hive and Travala collaboration
Hive and Travala are two projects that are different but quite similar. They're different because Travala is managed by one entity, while Hive is mostly managed by the community.
In terms of similarity, both projects are obviously crypto-based projects. However, what thrills me most about both of them is the fact that they both offer real working products that users can enjoy.
I believe that a symbiotic union between Hive and Travala has immense potential. Travala users will join hive and more Hive users will use Travala. There are more mutual benefits for both projects in various aspects including marketing, token distribution and utility.
A collaboration between Travala and Hive could look something like this;
- Travala adds hive to the growing number of cryptocurrencies that can be used to pay for millions of travel products around the world.
- To achieve the above, Travala has to create a Hive wallet that will facilitate deposit of Hive.
- In the process, Travala also creates a social account on hive where they crosspost their publications and announcements for the Hive community.
- Travala eventually gets involved in planning meetups on hive, including physical Hivefest gathering, with all payments made in AVA and/or Hive.
At the end of the day, this collaboration will add extra utility to Hive. To access discounts and whatnot, people on Hive also buy AVA token. At the end of the day, everybody wins.
Yesterday, I threw out a Tweet to the public about the possible collaboration.
The @leofinance project has already indicated an interest in adding a Travala subcommunity, to which I indicated interest in managing. I believe that moving forward, a collaboration could turn out to be immense for both projects.
