Upon careful analysis I came to the conclusion that the affairs of this country is being managed by people out of the youthful age and the question I kept asking myself was what could be the cause? What is preventing the youth from taking up leadership positions in the country. In a modern society that we find ourselves in I think we need very innovative leadership and this can be.
In the youth anthem the youth are asked to Arise for the country, and we are told the nation demands our devotion. Is it that the system doesn’t allow for us to deliver or we are reluctant.
I asked a couple of friends and I came up with the following reasons to be why we find a few young men and women in leadership positions in the country.
Monetization of the political system in Ghana. One of the major problems faced by young people who find themselves in the political scene is that they can’t match the financial strength of the old folks in the system so they end up losing to them.
Politicians are often known to be thieves of the national purse. From times past we have witnessed how politicians embezzled public funds so we turn to see politics to be a thing meant for the dark hearted people.
Having said all that I want to by this article encourage all youth in this country to truly arise for our country Ghana. We need to stand up and fight for the future of this country. We are bout to face barriers but let’s not relent. Ghana’s population is generally a youthful one so if we the youth come together we can effect the change we desire.
