Education in Nigeria [A scam or not?]

If we were to be talking about education in other western countries then I would say it is actually very legit but in this Nigeria reverse is the case.

Nigeria school doesn't teach you what you need to know, after school you discover all you need to have a successful career is not by what was thought in school, but you have to make alot of researches to be able to succeed.

However education is not a scam, education exposes you to the outside world, gives you a wider knowledge of things in life. In as much as after school we would still likely learn a skills or vocation being educated would help in making things easier for us.

An uneducated farmer might still be using his hands to farm and plant but an educated one would use a tractor instead and this would help him to be fast and easy.

Many people believe that school is a scam and that it doesn’t teach students the necessary life skills to make them relevant in society. They argue that school teaches students things there aren’t passionate about and does not prepare them for their future career paths.

They argue that schools only expose students to certain ideas and views and fail to experientially provide the entire picture of all perspectives that are out there.

The main reason people go to school is to get a high paying job after they graduate. Yet nothing is taught about money. If schooling is a big deal, then teachers, lecturers, and professors alike should be the richest people on earth. But that is not always the case; the richest people on earth are not “school fanatics.”

I will say this school and education and not entirely the same. You can be educated in some things without necessarily going to sit in school.
School doesn't teach about life it only helps you to read and write. A person can still be in a school but still not educated in a lot of ways.

School might be a scam but education is not.

One can be educated in both formal and in formal ways.

Schooling in Nigeria might be a waste of time especially in the higher institutions but this doesn't also applys to all courses, i feel there are some course you don't need to learn in school and there are some you really need to learn. Nigeriam government made school to be so tiring for its people, from 5 months sit at home because of asuu strike to some other delay.

Majority of the young people today are not doing what they learnt in school, alot of us are doing what we were taught outside school but then I believe with a little touch of our education our work would be great.

Thank you so much for reading 💕 💕 💕

Very correct. School and education are very different because education can be gotten anywhere at all while school focuses on academics.
