"My dear, you know you have to let me go . I've lived a full life, I have no fear and it's time to heed the final call"
Sniffing, Christina said, "I am not ready for you to leave mum. I can do this alone."
Christina's mum smiles slightly, "You can and you will. I am not scared of leaving you but I am already proud of what you will achieve soon"
"How are you so sure? Do you know something I don't?"
"I know for sure that what I have put in you is ready to be heard. You have to believe in yourself like I have always believed in you."
Christina sobbing painfully
"Oh Mum. I-I don't kn-"
"Shhh my dear, let's enjoy this moment together. Senerade me with your words so I can hold on to them as I go."
Sniffing, Christina begins to softly sing, her voice is choked with tears, but her love is everything.
"In my heart, your memory will never, ever end.
The lessons that you taught me, will stay with me for life.
Your love has been a guiding light, throughout my every day.
You've been my light in darkness, and my strength when I was weak
And though I'll miss you terribly, your love will always speak
To me in quiet moments, when I'm feeling all alone
And I will know you're with me, in my heart, my dearest one.
So hush now, my dearest mother, and let your spirit fly
Your legacy will live on. I love you"
Feeling her mother's hand go cold in her palms like a drooping branch, Christina remembered that those hands were once strong and proud, cupping her cheek and showering her with love. She then took her mother's hand and placed it on her cheek, mimicking the memory she had just recalled.
