I was looking through my notifications when I noticed that @hivebuzz had commented on one of my posts, letting me know that today is my Hive Birthday!
I've been on the blockchain for 8 years now!
I've seen Hive go through huge changes from the steem days till now. I've seen lots of personalities come onto the platform. @trevonjb is actually the guy who onboarded me. I've won Hive from @cryptofinally. The @hodgetwins even have an account on Hive!
I've seen the token price be pretty high at one point, and that goes for both the main token and the stable token. We've fixed the stable token but seeing a $7 Hive again would be pretty nice.
But I've learned a ton and had lots of fun over the past 8 years, just documenting things on Hive. I joined Hive for data ownership originally and I knew from the start that I was in it for the long game and I've pretty much stuck to that script the whole 8 years.
There's not much that I would change about how I've done things in Hive other than not buying more Hive recently at $0.17...
Such a noob move!
My next short-term goal for Hive Power is 7,500 HP but I really want to get to 10,000 Hive Power as soon as possible I was recently motivated by seeing the new Bee Badges on PeakD.
But it's crazy how the simple things still keep me excited about the platform and everything we have going on here on Hive.
Simple apps like @actifit have kept me consistent over the years and helped me get back into the community at times when I have taken extended breaks from posting.
And now we have tools like snaps and waves that I think are the new hot thing that will help us keep people here and engaged when we get the next wave of users during this next run-up!
But I'm super excited for year 9 here on Hive! I can't post the way I have in previous years but I find my ways to stay connected and follow my own flow on here.
Hoping to see a lot of growth for myself and the Hive community over the next year!
