Whenever I watch videos and read books, I see a lot of people showing concerns about why they want their viewers or readers to be rich, and then I ask myself this question "Do they really care if you are rich?"
You see, it looks like this people are selling a notion to us. It looks like they are selling themselves to make more money. A lot of this people that promise you that you can be rich for a particular price of buying their courses, or being a part of their community aren't actually rich. They sell you this course pretending to be rich, and if all falls into place, they will fund their lavish lifestyle from the proceeds.
While some people would call them scams, the reality is they are actually grifting as they stay on the blur line compared to the outright scammers that will take your money and run away with it. This ones will remain for a very long time, and they do not care if you make a penny all through your life, they are only concerned about you reading their books, buying their courses, or watching their videos. You see, personally I do not care if you are rich because it is not an immediate thing.
One thing that has happened with people who listen, read, and watch this people is referred to as a parasocial relationship where A knows a lot about B but B doesn't even know A exists. This is common among celebrities and their fans or audience, but it is also common between influencers, and financial gurus. Now you see, financial gurus have taken it to another level where they make you feel like they do care about you whereas they do not even know you are existing. In reality, they were talking to their cameras, creating a book, or an into to a course, so you can buy it with the thoughts that they have you at heart, whereas they just want to make money.
Let me ask you, you want to follow every simple financial advise that you have heard, but it is hard to follow because it is hard. Unless you are lucky with a business success, after following the money properly and doing business right while getting investors and good returns, it will take the average person 40 years to be financially stable but then, we all want to speed up this time as soon as possible.
You see, personal finance gurus know what you want to hear, and they are willing to sell them to you. They are willing to tell you to save more money but saving money would not make you rich, rather it would cost you your money as a result of inflation. They will tell you that you need a side hustle but in reality, the side hustle isn't worth it because if it was worth it, you could have made it your main hustle.
Let's agree that financial gurus do not want you to be rich, the what about the company you re working for? The company you work for do not want you to be rich in any way, that is why they pay little and overwork you as much as they can. Since your job do not care if you get rich, be always ready to leave them at every little opportunity that you find, but ensure that they give you a good reference when you are leaving for another job with better pay.
To conclude, a lot of people live their financial lives inflated because they think people care if they are rich but in all honesty, everyone is concerned about themselves unless they depend on you financially.
