For all the people who are new here or are don't know what Splinterlands art contest is about . Well i got you covered with a little Introduction.

Every week Splinterlands community on Hive.blogs hold's an art contest . In this contest participants are to draw one of there cards from Splinterlandscards.com in there own art style or they have to make something inspired by this Card . Any art medium can be used now restrictions over that . However copy pasting others work , Tracing or any kind of Plagirism is strictly prohibited . So lets keep it orignal and just enjoy the creative process .

With that being said i also enjoy participating in this contest every week and For my entry this week i'm making a card called Octopider .

So shout out to splinterland as they literally have some of the most creative hybrid characters . Lets discuss the Card a little more so its basically a octopus/spider hybrid its just like an alien creature tbh . the tentacles with huge suction cups are attached to half limbs like that of an spider . it has eyes and huge fangs like a spider but the huge bulbous head is like an octopus. The over all color even is very disctinct and unique for the character .

So i kept all this in mind and began sketching it out so i firstly just sketched a shape for a octopus and its limbs stretched out in simple lines and then i just starred adding all the elements like from the bottom to the half tentacles had this wiggly snake like shape with there suction cups and then i just made the spider limbs and joints so they are like a bone with two balls attached which enables the movement. Our octopiders limbs were pretty much done. Now i sketch out the huge bulbouus octopus head and i was like a overlapped circle with another and then there was a furry little crown part after that i made a Infinty type of shape.

This shape will be the base of our octospiders eyes and face so here i added eight eyes.
Now for the mouth i made the fangs really huge and teeth sticking out because this creature is terrifying . That's our initial sketch.

After the sketch is made i import it into a digital drawing app called medibang paint pro . Here I'm gonna select a pen sharp brush and start tracing the sjetch out also i correct the steps where it seems off. Firstly i sketch the tentackes out with the joints. Next the head and his face expressions and i added suction cup over thhe top layer. and here my basic lineart is all ready

These days i try coloring over just one basic layer by clipping more layers on top and with the help of selection too. So i selected the character filled the mostly used color in it as base and over the base i added a layer with flat colors like the head was a grey color and the fangs were a different color.

next i put a layer on clipping mask over the top and shade the tentacles with a darker pink set that layer on multiply. the next thing is i add highlight to the tentacles with a hot pink color and set the layer blending mode on add. After we have shaded the tentacles of a Octopider we do the same shading for the rest of the spider by keeping in mind what kind of texture it has and where the light will hit. Finally after its completely shaded now we add a background and color the lineart
Since its a Underwater character so i made a dark blue Gradient layer in the background. next i add a little halo to the backside of our character to make it more pop Now i just Changed the color of Lineart by alpha locking the lineart layer and adding color on top.

Finally i imported my water mark and did some color adjustments add some fierce light to its eyes and here is the final Result.

Hope you liked it. That's all for today. Thank you for your precious time and support ❤
