Personally I'm sure if I was not a Nigerian, I would not consider having kids.
Why are you bringing somebody you claim you love to this uncertain, chaotic world where life is fleeting, nothing is assured and you cannot shield them from all the horrors in this world. This is not even about money, there are way more things to life than money.
As a human being you have to deal with something every time and there is no break.
There is always a problem somewhere. It could be school, money, relationships, or even problems arising from being a Nigerian citizen and these problems never ever end (be it big or small issues) and to top it, you still have to live right to make heaven (reference to my christian religion).
I don't see the love in bring somebody you claim you love to this mess.
Somebody has said to me that it is selfish not to bring kids, but it is actually the other way round. Most of the reasons I've heard from people for having kids is so that they can take care of them when they are older, for somebody to take on their name or for friendship which are all just selfish reasons in my opinion.
If I can absolutely ignore the powers that be (reference to family and others) I will honestly not do this out of love.
Oh if you want to say you would make an impact in the world, darling this world would fade away (still based on religious belief) plus you guys act like you don't see what is going on everyday..... There is one abominable act or the other springing up with people coming up with various justifications for them.
At the end of the day, I believe true love would be not having kids because you cannot sufficiently shield them from this world.
