It was a fun day today and I hope I have this little experience to share with you, because I believe you can never gain any experience sitting idle or sitting indoor so I need to move out and pay some visit to my friend but what amazed me so much is that, I have never seen how to do this before but with this little experience I had today I love it so much, because I still remember when I'm still a kid. I always think that palm oil is made from a chemical mixture, but today is just an eye opener for me and I can now come and explain what I gained for the world and how the process goes.
I visited my friend in Ogun state Nigeria, where I find the little nature experience that I want to write about, there was a palm kernel tree next to his house and he has told me that the palm fruit is used for palm oil production but I argued with him until I came to visit him today and thank God they finally invited a palm miner expert to come and harvest the palm kernel, and as a farmer, I go closer to him to ask what is the uses and benefit of this palm kernel, because I only see the tree as a shed, where we can play or relax, but then he explains to me that the palm fruit is so useful and is used in the production of palm oil, vegetable oil and more so that we can extract brooms from the leaves and produce palm wine from its tree, and it is so amazing for me to have this knowledge and also surprised to hear all the benefits of the tree.
So let's continue in my story, the man started what he came here to do by cutting the stalks and wondered why he is cutting the whole shed and then he explained that without cutting the stalks he can not harvest the palm fruits he came here for, so I'm out there watching and also taking the time to take a series of pictures of him working on the tree, and after he gets the stems cut off, he shows us the palm fruit, how it looks on the tree and immediately he cut off the palm fruits and dropped them.
Here are some of the pictures I took and this is where he cut off the stem and palm fruits. I asked him if it is the last harvesting process, he answered me by saying NO, the palm fruits are you be taken out of the bunches before they can be used.
So this is how the palm fruits are taken out from the bunches and after that he said he will invite someone to come and make the palm oil here before I go back and I am so excited to see how he harvested the palm fruits from the tree, and this is the first time I see it but I can't wait any longer than to share it with you and I will keep you updated when it is time to refine the palm fruits into a palm oil and show you the process and I will be very happy if you enjoy this and I know that you cannot wait to see the process of refining the palm fruits.
