Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. It's been a while since I've been active. Let's just say life has been giving me a hard time lately. I guess it's one of those things that happen as we grow older.
Although I lost my motivation to do so much. One thing that remained constant was my need to create a new crochet piece every time. At this point, it's safe to say I'm a little obsessed with it and rightly so. It's quite therapeutic for me and the fact that it keeps my mind off other disturbing things makes it enjoyable. I like the fact that I can relax while being productive, so it's quite helpful in many ways.
Today I'm here to share one of the crochet pieces I made during my time away. It was an order by a client. She wanted something colourful and I think my favourite part is that the colours have some of the LQBTQ colours. She ordered a skirt, a cropped sweater and a bucket hat. I'll share the cropped sweater in subsequent posts.
For this skirt, I used a 4mm crochet hook. I started with the waistband. I made a chain of 12 and did half double crochet in the second chain from the hook, till the end of the chain and for the next couple of rows, it's a repetition of half double crochets in the back loop only. When I was done with the band I started working on the body of the skirt.
The difference between her waist and hips wasn't so much so I ended up having to do only a few rows of increases after I started on the main skirt. I did 5 rows of increases before getting the desired size, then I did 6 regular rows before starting my decrease on every 2 rows. I continued that pattern for the next 10 rows before stopping the decreases and just doing regular rows till I got my desired length.
It's quite an easy-to-make and straightforward skirt. I was a little worried about the colours not sitting well but I think they did okay. I hope you like it too.
Thanks for stopping by❤
