my culprit is a runaway chicken....

great efforts on self watering
but spinach is just so darn thirsty and hates being dry out.

radish grows like weeds when conditions are right. I always plant mine straight in ground as seeds... they seem to do ok.

Enjoy gardening. Having your own food in the garden is the best feeling ever. Enjoy enjoy.

🤣🤣🤣 Oh my gosh!! Just look at her, standing there like she owns it all. "Thanks for the snacks!"
I burst out laughing when I read your reply and saw the photo! So cheeky! Hahaha!

Thanks for the tip, I think I will plant a few more radish seeds then. My husband loves radishes. Want to stick a few more beetroot seeds directly into the ground and see if they manage as well. Some of the ones I transplanted don't look like they will make it sadly.

But you are right! I am so excited about getting to enjoy some food I grew myself. I am thinking my spinach is at a point where I can actually start harvesting a few leaves at a time. Maybe that can also be a part of of my next update 😉

Yeh, shes a cutie pie that one. So friendly and my fav chicken. She had been unwell and i was nursing her by keeping her close and feeding her. While i was doing the garden video i panned the camera and caught her jumping into the seeds having a great old time... lol

I have never grown beetroot as it is one of the vegetables (very few of them) that i totally hate. I won't eat Brussel sprouts or beetroot. Just about everything else i LOVE.

Yep radish is easy enough in the soil i think. Ive never planted seedlings... but you could to speed it up?

enjoy the spinach. Spinach is the vege that we eat the most here.

Happy gardening

Awww, I hope she feels well soon. I don't mind beetroot, my mom-in-law loves it, so that was my little gift to her. I can't say I am fond of Brussel sprouts though, haha! The thing about planting veggies that each of them love, is that they have now both become invested in the veggie garden as well. 😉
