After all the doom and gloom surrounding the cryptocurrency market, things have certainly gone the complete opposite direction in the past few days. After the news about Blackrock and several other huge funds plans to launch a BTC ETF, the very first ETF has been given it's approval from the SEC. (It wasn't Blackrock btw, but Volatile Shares). This has pushed BTC to a 1 year high as it blew past the $31k mark. 📈🚀 How things can change in the space of just a few days. These are wild times indeed. 😱
On the Splinterlands dev side of the game, it has been really quiet once again. Looking through the news announcements and change notes only showed some backend changes with nothing really affecting the game itself. Well, there is still the ongoing 5th Anniversary DEC Burn event, but that's about all the relevant Splinterland news I am aware of. 😅
But before I go into detail...
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 83rd consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. I talk about what has gone on my personal Splinterlands playing experience, my weekly Guild Brawl Reports, and also any Splinterlands ingame news. 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰
🗺️🧳✈️Updates on my Splinterlands Journey🗺️🧳✈️
It's been as quiet for my personal Splinterlands experience as it has been for the lack of any significant updates. We had an end of season take place just last week, so this week has been pretty much just grinding my way back up the leagues again. Surprisingly, it hasn't been as hard this time round. I'll put it down to just RNG though. I am still facing ridiculously overpowered decks which will absolutely crush my main and alt accounts. However, whenever I notice a string of "lower level" opponents, I'll take the opportunity to grind out as many games as I can.
It seems to be really effective seeing as I'm just about at the Gold League rating on both accounts now. This is a strategy I'll probably attempt to deploy more often in the future.
My daily reward chests aren't quite as forthcoming with nothing of note at all.
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
I have not managed to get any new Nightmare packs to replace all those I've sold. I will wait patiently to get them at the price I want. 🤑

With the end of the week comes my latest Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for "PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish" too. 🍕⚔️🛡️
There isn't anything of note to speak of in my Gladius Case openings, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully something better will pop up after I accumulate enough for another one.
🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope 🤣🤑 for my future Gladius packs. (or any packs/rewards chest for that matter 😉)
My main regularly picks up the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Only Fray no.12✨🏅✨ while my alt takes up the ✨🏅✨Wild Novice League Fray no. 2✨🏅✨ every week.
Both accounts seemed to have performed decently with the main and alt registering a 2-0 and 4-1 score.
PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 3rd place! 🏆🏆🏆
Normally, finishing on the podium would be pretty good, but I'd say this time round, it was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, we missed out on the 2nd place by just a single win. What made it an even more bitter pill to swallow was that we had an unfortunate no-show. Just a single win out of all of those abandoned attempts would have lifted us up into second. Oh well. These things happen I guess, especially when interest in crypto games are waning during a bear market.

On a sidenote, we've still got some unfilled frays too so...

🏆💰🎁Splinterlands News🏆💰🎁
We have just 5+ more days to go to the end of The Great Burning 5th Anniversary event. The amount of DEC/DEC-B burnt since last week has slowed down considerably to just 9.5 million being burnt. I'd say that is to be expected as the points bonus are decreased with every passing day since the system rewards the earliest burners the most. This system was made with the intention of preventing last minute "snipes" for the prizes.
I do somewhat expect the final few hours to throw up some surprises though. Even if the absolute last day provides zero bonus points, The gap between the ranks are still close enough to see a strategic last minute burn to take the lead. I will be watching how it all plays out very closely. The prizes at stake are pretty significant and it will definitely be worth attempting to jump up to the next tier. 🤣😈🎁
