We have had the most wonderful time house-sitting Sara's Timberlane Farm for the past couple of weeks. Sara has been enjoying the warmth of Florida while we have been enjoying the peace and tranquility of her 60-acre farm while taking care of her house, horses, and pets.
This view is from sitting on her back screened-in porch overlooking the pond. The birds are singing and the fish are rippling the surface of the pond just begging to be thrown a fat juicy worm from a fishing pole. There are several bird feeders that we kept supplied, so there was plenty of bird activity. And they were not shy about letting you know if feeders ran empty!
There were all kinds of birds that dropped by to sing to us and take away a snack. I haven't seen many redbirds lately, so it was a pleasure to see this handsome guy:
Spring is finally upon us and the trees are beginning to bud out. This shows the difference just between morning and afternoon on how much progress is being made towards the welcome greenery:
After enjoying the birds and the pond it was a great pleasure to look out over the pasture and see the horses. I'm a horse lover from my childhood when I owned a tall big-boned mare called Taffy. We are making friends with all three of Sara's horses and plan on doing some trail riding with her when she returns and the weather warms up. That, for me, is a truly Sublime Sunday! When we returned to relax in the house it was time to give some love to the indoor pets. Susie, the blue heeler hound, stays outside most of the time though she does come in for short visits and treats. Shiloh, the cat, is most content when she is sharing "her" recliner with someone:
This is our last Sunday here at Timberline Farm and I'm going to miss all my animal friends. This has been a great experience and a divine Sublime Sunday!
