MY FIRST Potato Harvest of 2024!
This is my fourth? fifth year of growing Potato. Each year, I add to the Fabric Grow Bags that I use for my potato harvests. Each bag is a 25 gallon (95 liter) fabric container, that's perfect in size for my growing. I typically plant 3 or 4 seed potato (and sometimes I screw up and add a 5th!)
I try to perfect my technique, and g4t a little better each year. I start with 1/3 sphagnum peat, 1/3 compost from my compost pile, and 1/3 soil from last year's bags. I add in some granular Blood Meal, Bone Meal, and other macro and micro nutrient fertilizers.
Are you growing Any potato?
I plant around March 17th, St. Patric's Day, each spring. Or close enough. and I harvest about 100 days later. I immediately replant for a second harvest, later in Oct/early Nov.
This year, I am growing Adirondack Blue, Dark Red Norland, and Yukon Gold.
