Easter(Palm Sunday?) Ham

...The Calendar is always confusing, when a Greek orthodox and a Lutheran Swede are Celebrating together!
I spent Sunday, hosting an Easter Dinner for my wife, her family, and some neighbors, while reminding everyone present, it's actually Palm Sunday, by the Orthodox Calendar.

The gathering was my wife and I, two grown daughters, my wife's brother, her sister, sister's daughter, sister's son, and his wife and 2 kids. Also, our neighbors were there, along with their adult daughters (same age as our own) and son. Plus a plus one or two from some of the kids.

While it seems the day was about food, it's really about the connections people make. For some, it's quiet reflections on their own family. For some, it's a very strong connection with their faith. Those Christians who know, truly understand that Easter, from Palm Sunday, through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and on to Easter Sunday itself, represent some of the deepest, most important events in the Christian Calendar.

The true meaning of Easter is not the Candy, Easter Bunny, Eggs, or food, it is about the deep connection and celebration of the commitment and the sacrifice of others. That Holiest of Convictions: Sacrifice, for us.

Whatever your convictions and faith, be true, be mindful and be at Peace with Each Other, and Yourself

It's time to take control of your own food supply,
your own health and your own lives.

The GroVid22 Challenge:
Grow Your OWN is not just a simple short challenge,
it's about taking control of your future!

Easter is my favorite religious holiday. Something that I've inherited from growing up in a devout Roman Catholic family.

this Easter (above) is different from the Greek Easter, where we roast a whole lamb in the backyard.

A lovely post Blue 🤗 From the connection to the sacrifice to time for family coming together and time for self reflection. I spent Easter Sunday in deep thought and exploration of the impact of Christianity in my life🙏

I'm curious.. do you use butter in the pineapple stuffing?

While Christmas gets the bigger show, it's Holy Week and Easter Sunday that really calls on Christians to examine their faith and its meaning in their life. We can say that period of reflection starts on Ash Wednesday but that leads to Holy Week. Giving, even when it means sacrifice, is an important part of our connections with others.
