Hello Steve,
Here is another of many posts specifically for you because you had asked me to keep an eye out for happenings here in South America.
Today, I was riding home and three blocks of Mayo Avenue were closed down for the evening's protest by students and faculty I assume. They had bullhorns and were instructing people on what to do and where to go from here.
At the end of the street near Plaza de Mayo, there were traffic cops waving people to another street, no way to head straight west on Mayo.
I stopped and listened for a moment to see what it was about, but I was unable to remain in the streets to hear the whole thing. This one was much more comfortable to ride through than the last one. The caliber of people was a bit higher and I did not feel like anyone there would rob me.
I am not out every day, but if I were, I could certainly find one or two 'bolonquis' happening if I did a quick circuit around the city, more if I went out to the surrounding areas. I am also working on uploading video to 3speak.tv (the Hive video platform). Signing up has been impossible so far.
