God of War: Hunting with Atreus.

God of War ²⁰¹⁸ was developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released worldwide for windows at January 14 2022. It's an action-adventure video game.

Hunting with Atreus

Atreus: Father is taking me hunting before we start the journey to the mountain. Mothers wishes were clear - we let the pyre burn, then take her ashes to the highest peak in the realms. I've got to show him I'm ready and I won't get sick anymore. Mom wanted us to scatter them together and I won't let her down.

Me as Kratos is going to accompany Atreus on his hunting a deer while Kratos will try to see how Atreus does on hunting.

The kid started running towards the forest as he believe the hunt should be in that direction and I started following him. Atreus has found some tracks but they're not of deer, so what do you think? Are we going to find something else in the forest? Well, let's check it out.

Then I've found these marks of mountain goat and Kratos called Atreus saying he missed these. Atreus was talking in a way as if he knows the mountain goat should be close.

Then we started running again and we've found a gap that we needed to jump over and in this run, I was getting to understand the abilities of Kratos. I really feel bad that I can't jump whenever I want to in this game.

While running in the woods, suddenly Atreus faced off a big deer that has colorful horns and they looks magical. I'm not familiar with the world of god of war and maybe its a magical world with magical creatures which I may understand in times.

Well, the Deer ran off seeing us and then we started following the path it chose.

There was a broken bridge and a part of the bridge blocked the other way so we were not able to jump over the bridge having that part over there. Now I got to use the axe and threw it to destroy the bridge part and cleared the way. And the axe returned to me just like Thor's Mjolnir and Storm breaker returns to him.

Then Atreus has found the Deer again but he missed the shot and Kratos seemed angry about that and took the bow from the boy.

And they started running again in the woods.

And now I've found some creatures that's called Drauger and they first scared Atreus so I rant to save him and started beating the hell out of the Drauger. The Drauger is like a dead creature or an evil being that tries to stop us. I was getting little hints/tutorial about the fighting moves in this fight.

And there came more Draugers and I destroyed them all.

Then I've found this place that I saw from the broken bridge a little earlier and I was hinted that I can explore the world to get rewarded more so I kept looking for all the easter eggs that can be found on the way.

Then there was this locked chest that I unlocked after interacting with some signs.

And I've found these goodies there. There I've found an Idunn apple that's one of three and getting all three will increased my maximum health.

After a moment, we've found the deer again and it kept escaping us and went into the temple.

Atreus was saying that his mom told him to never go into the temple and Kratos replied: We do what we please boy, no excuses; and then opened the gate of the temple.

We faced some more Drauger there and I killed them all.

And then there was this gate that I needed to open by using that chain which unlocks the gate and then I used the axe to keep the gate open.

We kept moving and there was this fire vase that started burning me after I destroyed it. And I've learned a lesson from this that I don't need to destroy anything and everything.

I've found this wooden board with a lore where there were some symbols and writing and Atreus started to writing about this in his journal.

Its about Skoll and Hati. This lore tells a glimpse of the story of two wolf giants chasing sun and moon.

Well then we've found the deer which was not far from us and its time for Atreus to prove himself. And I got to shoot the deer as Atreus now. After locking the target, I released the arrow.

And it was a success. The deer fell on the ground with the shot. And they went near the deer to finish the hunting.

The deer was still alive so Kratos asked Atreus to finish it off but Atreus seemed sad about that and he didn't want to do it but Kratos insisted and made him do it cause Kratos wants Atreus to be brave so that he can survive in any situation.

Then there came this giant creature and took the deer and threw it away.

Now to get out of this situation, we had nothing to do but defeating this giant, deadly creature called Dauoi Kaupmaor.

The good thing is, I'm not alone in this fight as Kratos because Atreus is going to help me in this fight by shooting arrows towards the creature although I'm the one needed to command Atreus to shoot arrows.

I started fighting the creature and it was really a hard one as the creature had a big health bar and its every single attack was taking a lot of my blood and I was even defeated for twice or thrice and then I took it seriously and I started evading more.

And then at last I defeated it and the finishing was attractive as Kratos was beating the beast black and blue.

And then Atreus started stabbing it with his knife when the beast was already dead and he looked too angry.

Kratos needed a moment to calm Atreus down as the boy was too angry at that moment and he was acting mad.

Kratos said, Atreus was not ready.
Atreus: Are you serious? I found the deer, I proved myself. How I am not ready?

Then Kratos was saying they'd head for their home and Atreus was talking about his sickness and was saying he hasn't been sick for a long time. I don't know about his sickness though.

But Kratos was all angry about the action Atreus and he knew that he boy was not ready so he insisted going home. Now we'll return to the house while fighting more enemies on the way and will finish this mission after a big fight.
