The Marked Trees
Atreus: Mother gave me this journal and made me promise to use it. So, I guess I just write everything down now? Should be plenty of time when father chops down the trees she marked. Been a long while since I've gone anywhere with him. But this is what she wanted, so I guess we both better get used to it.
This is the tree that the mother of Atreus marked I don't know why and I don't know how the lady was killed as this is the first God of War game I'm playing but I just know that Kratos lost his better half and its time to cut down the tree that she marked to burn her body with.
Now I started swinging the Leviathan Axe to cut down the marked tree.
And the tree fell after some successful swings.
While Kratos was about to grab the tree, his hand grip went loose and started falling and he seemed like remembering something about that. I wish I'd know the story behind all these.
Kratos started tying the grip and there came young Atreus when Kratos was trying to hide from Atreus that he was tying the hand grip and then he asked Atreus to start walking.
And then Kratos lifted the whole tree with one hand, placed it on his shoulder and started walking. Now I got to walk as him and I kept walking following the path and Atreus that took me to the riverside where we had a boat.
I threw the tree in the river and Atreus tied a rope to the boat that was attached to the tree.
Now I started to follow the river downstream by the boat and it was a very short trip by the road as the river downstream ended in a bit of ride.
Then Kratos lifted the tree again and I started walking again as him following Atreus and it seemed like they reached their home, Kratos put the tree down on the ground.
When Kratos started to shop down the tree, Atreus was running towards the home while the camera was on him and it seems the corpse of his mother was inside.
The kid wend close to his mother and was saying something that I didn't understand. It looked like he was praying.
There came Kratos and found Atreus crying beside the corpse of his mother.
Kratos then lifted the dead body and was walking outside and it looks like he's made a bed of woods with the marked tree. Then Kratos put the corpse on it.
Then he's made a fire and started burning down the corpse with the tree logs. It was such a heartbreaking moment for them.
Suddenly Atreus noticed the knife of his mother that was burning with her and he grabbed the hot knife and burned the palm of his hand.
Then Kratos used some ice on the burned hand and asked Atreus to squeeze it and gave the knife to Atreus saying, "The knife was hers, now its yours".
Kratos asked Atreus if his mother taught his to hunt or not and Atreus replied in affirmative so Kratos asked him to show him what he knows and NOW.
Atreus went inside the home and came out carrying his bow and arrows.
Now the father and son will go hunting together and Atreus gest a chance to prove himself as well. Who knows what lies ahead?
