I drove to Rovinj on that sunny but cold December day. A friend had an interview for a potential job there, so I brought her and another friend to Rovinj. The place was on the outskirts of the city, near the cemetery.
While my friends were in some office or something, I don't know now what kind of job that potential job was, I spent some time rambling among the graves.
A magpie was observing the scenery from the top of one of the tall old cypresses.
Here you can see an interesting Jesus, planted in the soil like a silver seedling in the typical crucifixion pose but with no visible cross to hang on.
I found a cool old photograph on one of the cool old tombstones.
This faucet also looked pretty cool and old. The thing looked like some strange fish. Or a dragon, maybe.
You can always find interesting sculptures and figurines in graveyards in this area.
You can see a bunch of child-like angels here.
I like these figurines. And there is always one or two of them that I have never seen before. The broken ones are very important to create a slightly bizarre atmosphere.
Here you can see one very ordinary Virgin Mary.
In the center of this photograph, you can see another beautiful old portrait.
Most tombstones are decorated with crosses and other Christian symbols and figures. Most, but not all. Some of them have non-religious symbols of the communist period.
This is the entrance to one of the buildings inside the walls of the cemetery. It looks like a chapel or a mausoleum.
These tombs are on the porch or loggia of that building.
At one point I came across a group of small shed-like buildings that weren't in good shape like the rest of the cemetery. I took a couple of shots through the broken windows.
In one of those, I found a bunch of interesting old caskets.
When my two friends returned ...
... we took a walk in the center of Rovinj, but I didn0t take many photographs there. I took only one shot, and you can see it here.
The two friends who were there with me were recently married. In this photograph, they are posing with the wedding certificate. Or some similar wedding-related document.
This photograph was taken earlier that day. In the kitchen of my house.
Here you can see a set of four photographs taken in front of my house.
These two shots were taken in the evening, in an apartment in the city of Pula.
This mannequin was also photographed somewhere in the city.
Here you can see some clothes inside the washing machine in the apartment of one of my friends that lives on the outskirts of Pula.
This is a detail from the same suburban bathroom.
I don't know what is this, but it definitely looks like an eye.
These two shots were taken at night. In the center of Medulin, the small seaside town in which I live.
The moon was full on the 16th of December 2013.
AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS IN THESE POSTS ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
