I had to buy some stuff in one of the supermarkets in this part of the city. Pula is for me the nearest city, so when there is something that the stores in my hometown don't have, I drive to Pula.
Usually, I take a walk through some of the forest parks just out of the city when the shopping is done. But this time, which means yesterday, I decided to walk through the typical suburban landscape, and take a bunch of photographs along the way.
Croatian football, unlike most other things here, is still doing well and making a good impression in Qatar, so you can see national flags displayed like on a public holiday. Although, this one has maybe just been washed recently and put out to dry.
Signs of world cup mania can be seen on the passing cars too.
This writing is also football-related but has nothing to do with big, world cup stuff. This is all about the local team from Pula, which isn't doing that great but it has its fans.
This photograph was taken from a large flat lawn surrounded by buildings. That's all I can say about this shot. Just more buildings for your eyes.
When seen in their entirety, these block buildings typical for public housing don't look very interesting to me, but ...
... but when I'm focused on details, the simple, geometric elements create some lovely abstractions.
Here you can take a good look at the flat green arena between the buildings. The autumn brought a bit of yellow to the scene, and a man was walking his dog when I took the lower photograph.
And that's it. I have no more pictures to show, so the post must end here. The dull suburban scenery isn't there to be fancy or attractive, but hope you enjoy the journey nonetheless. Cities throughout the world are made mostly of this suburban stuff.
Shiana is a pretty large neighborhood on the outskirts of Pula. It includes some fairly tall buildings, quite a few supermarkets, a bus terminal, some storage & industry - related stuff, and there is even a part covered with small, family homes. In this post, the focus is on the block buildings of Shiana.
AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
