Today, I had to visit some people in Jurshichi.
Jurshichi is a small village near Vodnjan, and Vodnjan is a small town near Pula, while Pula is a city situated only about ten kilometers from Medulin, the small seaside town in which I live. All in all, I had to drive about 25 kilometers to reach Jurshici. On my walk around the village, not far from the church, I came across a pretty big swarm of bees.
It was an unexpected encounter and a fairly exciting one too. I mean, maybe you come across large groups of bees that cover parts of walls and facades regularly, but for me, this was an exceptional occurrence. I remember seeing similar swarms in the woods and abandoned buildings, but never in the middle of the village like in this case.
The bees didn't mind my presence so I came pretty close to get these shots.
Here you can take a better look at the gate guarded by the bees.
The house is a nice piece of architecture. It's old, it looks pretty good, and the bees on the gate are a unique addition to the whole thing. The plate on the front facade states that this building hosts the headquarters of the local Department of Archaeology. So you can now imagine all those fierce archeologists passing by a swarm of bees on the way to the offices or whatever it is there inside. They are probably friends with the bees. Maybe the bees are pets, and archeologists pass them by like you would pass by your own Rottweiler that scares the shit out of other people when they see him in your yard, but for you, this is your nice playful dog. Yeah, maybe. Who knows? Well, I most certainly don't. I don't know much about Jurshichi. The place isn't far from where I live, but I visited the village only a couple of times.
Saint Francis of Assisi Church is the most iconic building in Jursichi. I took this shot through the branches of the olive trees across the road. The church looked even better that way, framed by the vegetation. It was built in 1874.
Here you can take a look at the scenery in one of the small streets behind the church. A couple of old houses and plenty of vegetation make the place look pretty photogenic.
In this photograph, I zoomed in on the succulent plants displayed in front of one of the houses shown in the previous one.
Here you can see a bunch of Dianthus plumarius flowers.
This lovely masked feline was guarding the entrance of one of the yards.
I didn't only use the camera to take the photographs today. Nope. I recorded some footage too. And then later, at home, I put together a short, one-minute video. 🙂 Have a good viewing.
Hi. This video is too short to be interesting as its own thing. But as a part of a longer and more elaborate post on HIVE, it can be pretty cool. And that's exactly how it is presented. As a fragment of a longer story on HIVE. You'll see a swarm of bees buzzing on the garden wall of one of the houses in the small village called Jurshichi. The music in the video is some lovely free-to-use stuff found on Pixabay. If musicians on HIVE would like to collaborate with me on future posts I'll be very happy. I could use their music and make them beneficiaries of the rewards for the post. I'm offering 20% beneficiaries.

These new houses, accompanied by brand new swimming pools, were built on the outskirts of the village and meant to be rented for tourism during the warm, sunny part of the year. They look finished, but the work is still in progress on the interiors and the crew of workers was also there.
Nearby, another unfinished building was showing its bricks.
This isolated stone house was photographed a little less than a kilometer from the village. Closer to the main road that leads to Vodnjan and Pula. The house is old but recently restored.
AND THAT'S IT. HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS QUICK TRIP TO JURSICHI. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS & THE VIDEO ARE MY WORK. 😂 I EXPECT THIS POST TO GET VIEWED A LOT BECAUSE IT HAS BEES IN THE TITLE AND AT ITS CORE, AND YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES ... BEES ... HIVE ... THAT ALWAYS HAS A POTENTIAL TO GET VIRAL ON HIVE ... BECAUSE YOU KNOW ... BEES ... HIVE ... SWARM ... AND ALL THAT STUFF ... YEAH, THOSE ARE THE APPROPRIATE BUZZWORDS 😆 AND I'M OK WITH THAT. THIS ISN'T A LAMENTATION, JUST AN OBSERVATION. BE A GOOD BEE AND HIVE ON.
