SOME COOL LITTLE MOMENTS OF A WARM AND CLOUDY SUNDAY

in #hive-168869last year

It was a warm but cloudy Sunday. I spent a couple of hours outdoors and then the rain started falling. In this post, I'm gonna show you what I photographed while walking around the coastal area called Marlera, a place I have visited quite often lately.

In this opening shot, I'm presenting my good old car parked near the entrance to an abandoned stone quarry. In the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... you can see a green shield bug and the friend who was there with me. The southern green shield bug (Nezara viridula) was resting on the transparent surface provided by my car's window so it looked like the insect was floating in the air without even using its wings. My friend is visible in the background, slightly blurred behind the glass.

(Enlargeable)

The glass helped create an interesting illusion in this photograph. It looks like the shield bug, much bigger than in reality is climbing from my friend's knee to her hand.

(Enlargeable)

In the third and last of these funny, deceptive shots, an oversized shield bug is resting on my friend's hand.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can take a quick look at the reeds in front of my car, about twenty meters from the place where I stood, while in the following photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... I zoomed in on the reeds about fifty or sixty meters behind my car.

(Enlargeable)

At some point, a small plane passed above my head. A few minutes later ...

IMG_1414 malo.jpg

... I noticed something weird in the sky above the northwestern part of the horizon. It looked like a single thread, a rope, or a hair hanging from the thick layer of clouds. When I zoomed in ...

(Enlargeable)

... I recognized a waterspout wind that looked like a little tornado. The thing was forming somewhere in the proximity of the city of Pula.

IMG_1488 malo.jpg

Here you can see the pretty big Helix pomatia snail that was resting, sealed in its lovely spiral shell, on one of the many wild fennel plants not far from my car.

(Enlargeable)

This is the Psylliodes cuprea, a tiny flea beetle from the Chrysomelidae family. Flea beetles are small leaf beetles with strong, elongated hind legs that can jump like fleas. Their shape and size also resemble those of fleas. The Psylliodes cuprea shown in this post ...

(Enlargeable)

... was photographed on my friend's arm.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see the same shiny little beetle cleaning one of its legs.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK - THE END.

Let's see @borjan, in the third and last photo I see the insect on the glass, not on your friend's hand, it's not misleading for me hahahaha, well I hope so

😃You are resistant to cheap tricks!

You are absolutely right, possibly the reason is my job, marketing, I must be very attentive to every detail.

Was that an old world II plane?

I think it's some kind of more recent small plane that only resembles the old ones. But I don't know much about airplanes so I could be wrong. Maybe is a model that hasn't changed much since the old days becouse it works fine with the same design.

Maybe some sort of training airplane, it resembles Aeronca 11 from 1946 though.

Aha it looks like the bug is on your friend's hand.
But the problem is the bug is larger comparing to his hand. Though blur part points out it is on glass.😀 Nice capture man!

Last bug seems to feed on your hand 🤔

A closed window to the "Natural World" reveals the "shield bug" !LOL (shielded from a human's touch you might say).

Reeds blowing in the wind, a sight that I particularly like (grasses also I enjoy). There's something peaceful and relaxing about them I guess. Awesome photos Borjan! 👌

!BEER !VSC 😊

Yes, reeds and grasses, especially when tall create relaxing, slightly hypnotizing waves when the wind is blowing.

wow was that really a little tornado?

Yes, they are quite usual here, but they always appear above the sea. Very rarely they reach the coast and do damage.

That's so amazing and scary. I would like to see one in person.

Yes, these things look cool when seen from a safe distance. 🙂 I mean they probably look great up close too but that kind of situation would be too stressful to fully enjoy the beauty of nature.

If only wasn't a live-or-die situation being next to one of them haha. I find them really fascinating. They really seem like living things.

🙂 Yes, they look like some ethereal airworms.

Great experience and the day was perfect

I can feel the gloominess in the photos. That bug is a distraction, but a good subject. Lol

😀

It was interesting to see the green shield bug perched there :)

😃

Cool boss

Thanks again friend

That's all are beautiful as usual. And I love that aeroplane it's looking charming in the clouds

esooo es increíble hermoso el insecto escudo verde, ayer vi que los insectos tienen el sistema inmunológico muy débil y son vulnerables a bacterias y virus 🦠🦟.

These photos are beautiful.

From the way you captured these insects, You played with my head at some point. You know looking at the shiny little beetle and the green shield bug I thought for a second that they were sitting right on my screen 😂

😃

How can someone recognize a tornado?

Well 😃 it looks like a tornado ... like in these pictures. This is one of the small tornadoes that appear above the sea and usually don't reach the land so they aren't dangerous like some big ones I saw in movies and TV news.

Haha, that snail reminds me of the time I went to visit my grandma who stayed in a riverine area, we would go hunting for snails because she loved them so much.

🙂 Did she love to eat them? 🙂 My grandma used to cook some kind of snail soup when I was a kid. I remember liking that thing but I never ate it later in life. I know how to catch a snail but I don't know how to make a tasty dish out of it. 😀

Yeah, she loves to eat them so much and I love to eat them too.
They are so tasty hehe

The glass helped create an interesting illusion in this photograph. It looks like the shield bug, much bigger than in reality is climbing from my friend's knee to her hand.

While scanning the post for a minute I thought it was actually happening👌🤣🤣

😃

Sunday is for walking and I also went for walking with my friend this sunday also saw many natural sights here also the weather is getting colder today and raining still Didn't happen.

Liked the position of the snail…

Cool moment it will certainly be. Great pictures out there
