Ending the weekend and simultaneously starting my post with a great quote from a movie I'll always feel drawn to, for some inexplicable reason. Tony Montana was many things but he was unapologetically real. Which is something that's become extremely important to me, especially nowadays.
This brings me to this week's topic number 4, which I surprised myself by choosing. It didn't take me long to come up with one part of my body I loved and considered my best feature. I know, it sounds super conceited but I swear it's not. Let me explain.
THE CHOICE
The answer to the "best body part" topic for me is my eyes.
However, this opinion I have for them is something that took years for me to get to. I used to hate my eyes when I was growing up. I believe most of this was the result of the beauty standard/ expectations thrown at us by the media (blue eyes were really "fashionable" in the early 00s). But as the years went by, I started to appreciate my eyes and learn some ways to accentuate them, especially during the pandemic since this was basically the only facial feature we could recognize each other by 😅
THE REASONS
First and foremost, I wholeheartedly believe that eyes are indeed a door into someone's soul. There has been many instances where I'd meet someone whose eyes would lead me into their world long before that person decides to open up to me. I've learnt that it's quite easy to figure out someone's intentions through the way they look at you. And, I have to admit that the best connections for me happen with people whose eyes make me feel peaceful and calm.
Another reason why I feel drawn to eyes is because I associate them with the universe. If you googled photos of eyes, you'd find yourself lost into all the different colours and nuances that compliment one another perfectly and make for spectacularly unique pairs of eyes!
My eye colour is very common though - over 70% of the world's population has brown eyes.
Even though it's a pretty ordinary one, I'd like to think of it this way: my eyes are the colour of my coffee. And my coffee has been one of the few constants in my life over the past few years and the only drink that's ever been able to transform this mommasaur into a normal human being in just one sip 😁
My eye shape and colour are also something that I've been lucky to pass onto my daughter who, no doubt about it, rocks these two coffee beans better than I ever could 🤩
Eyes are one of the most fascinating and distinctive features one could ever possess. They can hypnotize and enchant you without you even realizing - that's how much power they hold. I'll end this post with some of my favourite quotes about eyes:
"Worlds change when eyes meet."
-Maggie Wilson
"I swear the whole universe danced in her eyes that day."
-Ariana
"The eyes shout what lips fear to say."
-William Henry
Appreciate you stopping by! Hope everyone's weekend has been as special and unique as their beautiful eyes are! Wishing you all a fun and magnificent start to the week and happy Valentine's to all the lovely couples celebrating ❤️
