As you will see, I once again didn't do too much betting this past weekend. I was actually quite busy getting a lot of stuff taken care of before the holiday season. Saturday I had some running around town to do. Then later I had to process the 20 lbs. of chicken we bought as well as the rest of the meat from the meat market.
On Sunday I started watching the World Cup, but I missed most of the second half because we were out celebrating Christmas with some friends and their family. We did make it home in time to see the penalty kicks and honestly that was the most exciting part anyway right?
I did place some bets on the game and I am happy to say at least one of them paid out as you will see.
I'd like to once again thank @fullcoverbetting for his guidance through the tournament. If it weren't for him, I would still be on my losing streak!
I thought sure I did another parlay on the World Cup Final game, but I don't see it here. Maybe I was mistaken. Anyway, I did place a $1 bet that ended up winning me $5.49. I figured there was a pretty good shot that Messi was going to take at least one shot. I also figured it was a pretty good bet that Mbappe was going to have at least one shot.
It didn't take very long for three of those four legs to hit. After that point it was just a matter of who ended up lifting the cup. I was watching with great anticipation as each of the teams took their shots. Then I jumped off the couch when Argentina won because I knew I had just won as well.
Looking back at this bet, it almost seems like a sure thing to me. Besides the Argentina winning portion, there is no way the other three legs weren't going to hit. Of course, I know there is no such thing as a "sure thing", but dang if this wasn't close. Almost makes me wish I had bet more money! :)
You can also see that I created my own parlay with the Lions, Steelers, and Falcons winning. Well, surprisingly, the Lions and Steelers held up their part of the deal, but the Falcons fell short. It was by less than a handful of points too, so that makes the loss sting even more!
Who would have guessed the Lions would end up being the team you could count on?
That would have been a cool $11 if the Falcons had pushed just a little harder. Tough loss for sure!
Finally, I picked up one of the pre-built single game parlays that the platform had on offer. It could have been a nice $12 gain for me, but I guess you can't win them all right. For as high as the score was in that game, it is surprising that more of the legs didn't hit. Except of course the Cowboys winning part. I guess I should have know better than to trust the Cowboys for anything. They really are one of my least favorite teams in the NFL.
With college football bowl season really ramping up, I am hoping that I can place some bets on that over the holiday weekend. Likewise, the NFL is getting really hot right now with the playoffs right around the corner and college basketball is getting ready to push into conference play.
There are going to be a lot of opportunities for winning (and losing) in the next couple of weeks. I feel like the Big 10 alone has some really good potential for upset wins this basketball season. Who knows, I might even throw some money on some NBA games.
Sadly, my betting platforms don't support the Belgium League or whatever it is. Otherwise I would be following FCB's advice to some more big wins!
