Especially for Hivefest
As I hinted at yesterday I have a brand new way of using v4v.app. And it turns out that, somewhat like buses, you wait ages for an app to easily let you receive any payment in Hive and then two come along at once.
Just today Hive @keychain released Keychain Store.
My app does essentially the same as that but with two key differences.
- It's a "Progressive Web App" which means it runs on your phone and a desktop without installation.
- v4v.app accepts payments as Hive, HBD or Lightning.
- Add it to your home screen on your phone: it will remember your Hive name.
The basic flow:
- fill in your Hive account name where you want to receive payment (you don't need to log in).
- fill in the amount you want in Hive or HBD.
- Press the Pay button.
- A screen with a QR code pops up, if the payer has Hive Keychain installed on their phone, they can scan that and it will open and offer them the transaction to approve.
- There's a selector to chose Lighting and get a different QR code that all Lightning wallets (like Wallet of Satoshi, Muun, Breez and others) can pay.
You'll see a green tick when payment is received.
Hive transfers are completely free.
Lightning has a small fee (which is shown and paid by the payer, if you ask for 10 HBD, you'll get 10 HBD and Lightning users will pay approx 19c in fees right now.
No Log In No Keys
Remember there are no keys or login on v4v.app itself. Payments are made via the keys stored on the payer's Hive Keychain app. Payment of Hive doesn't go through v4v.app, everything happens on Hive's blockchain signed by keys held elsewhere.
