My holiday? Well, one of the things I’m grateful for is being in a position where I can decide when I want my holiday to begin and when it will end. As it stands, if I want the holiday to start this very evening, I can easily make it happen. There is no boss that will tell me otherwise. All I’d have to do is finish all outstanding jobs and make sure that I won’t be owing any client. Then, I’d happily be off for the holidays.
I guess that’s one of the perks of being my boss. I get to call my shots and also get to decide my work time. And then, the fact that I get to do every single thing at home is just an added bonus. It’s all fun for me and I really enjoy working here.
So, when does my holiday start? I’ve already talked about how I plan to enjoy this season better than my previous years. Last year was spent alone, and I want to spend this year with family which is why I’m doing everything I can to round up before I have to leave for the holidays.
So then, if I should say, my holiday will begin next week. I’m making plans to travel, so once I travel, that’s the day I stop working so hard and I relax to enjoy the fruit of my labor. I’ll still be blogging religiously, I don’t see it as work and besides, I can literally do it from anywhere. I can even make a post while I’m at the cinema waiting for my movie to come on. As long as I’m not distracted, I can easily go on to have a good time.
I’m already making plans with regard to all this. Although things have been a bit topsy-turvy these past few days, confusing me a little bit. First, it was the appreciation of the naira to the dollar, the naira had been gaining significantly against the dollar within the past week. Although it hasn’t reflected in the cost of living, and I honestly don’t expect it to. This is the season when friends and family who are abroad will come home, so they’re all converting their foreign currency into naira which is a good reason for the appreciation.
Not long after the price of fuel has been steadily crashing over the last couple of days. I heard it’s due to the opening of a refinery in Port Harcourt. Is this a good thing? Yeah, because it could mean that transportation may not be as expensive as I’ve feared it would be. But then, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
So, while I’m preparing for my holidays, things and things are happening in the background that I have to attune myself to. Whether I’m ready or not, I’ll have to adapt. So, it’s going to be a joyous season for me and my family and I’ll do my best to ensure that I enjoy this season to its fullest extent. I look forward to everything this season is going to bring my way.
I wish you all a happy holiday!
