Lately, I feel like I've been beating my head against a wall to get certain Hive tools to work for me. It's to the point where I'm willing to just take a loss on certain investments because it's just not worth the frustration. It's obnoxious enough that I'm actually motivated enough to write this post. Features of certain tools that should work on mobile simply don't, and frankly, that's unacceptable.
I've only been on Hive for over a year, but many of you know me, the tokens I invest in, and that I run the DUO project with @bitcoinman and @thebighigg. I haven't been around as long as others, but I'm certainly no newbie either. I firmly believe Hive is a great place, and because of that, I'm not afraid to call things like they are, regardless of who I piss off.
There needs to be a bigger push to make things more mobile friendly if we (Hive) want to attract more people. The biggest turn-off to people is having to jump through hoops to find an online guide that will supposedly help them with the issue they're running into, only to have it fail repeatedly. That's a surefire way to lose Hive users and also generate negative word of mouth when they talk about "crypto" and Hive with others.

It's no secret I do most things on Hive using my phone. Sometimes, I'll use a tablet. My laptop collects dust under my nightstand because 99% of what I could ever want to do I can do on my phone. So, when I can't get Tribaldex to give me the option in Keychain to connect my Metamask wallet to deposit some tokens in order to invest in a liquidity pool, that's a problem.
When it proceeds to give me this error message, telling me it doesn't detect a wallet, do you think it gives me an option to connect one?
Of course not! It just perpetually spins and does nothing! I went so far as to download the Kiwi Browser through the Google Play Store, then added Keychain as a Chrome extension and imported my keys into there, just to confirm it wasn't a Keychain issue. It's likely not since the same thing happened.
Tribaldex isn't the only one, either. While I have no issues using the Ecency app on my phone, it doesn't load correctly on my tablet. It's not as big of a deal, but it is still an annoyance. Also, Keychain on my tablet can't be made fullscreen. While each separate minor inconvenience isn't a big deal on its own for someone like me, who just deals with it and moves on, for new users that may be enough for them to just give up.
If we're going to onboard people to Hive and have them stick around, then these tools need to be improved, so we're making a good first impression. We may not get a second chance.
