Overcoming Writer's Block - HSBI Initiative

It seems like these days, I struggle to find something meaningful to write about on Hive. Sure, I have some post ideas in the works, but they require additional time to put together. Lately, it feels like I've been lacking that "spark" where an idea pops into my head, and I begin furiously typing away on my phone to get my ideas down.

It's ironic that I'm writing this post about "writer's block," since if it were an extreme problem, this post wouldn't exist. Still, I want to post more often but find a lack of inspiration to be a hindrance.

I'm curious what everyone else does to "get the creative juices flowing" when it comes to formulating ideas for posts.

two things I could go for during this time

Write about food or being foodie
Just tell a story about what happens today

whether I am having writer block or not, people can tell it by the quality and the volume of the post I make. I believe it is ok if sometime our post become less good from usual, as long it is not made based on bad or wrong intention.

That's a good idea. I try not to make super short posts just for the sake of rewards, but sometimes short posts can still be worthwhile.

Winter is always rough for me. I feel like in the summer I am out creating content and ideas for content. In the winter we are just snuggled up inside trying to keep warm, so it gets to be a bit harder to come up with stuff.

Unfortunately procrastination is my worst problem and I usually end up leaving a writing project and then finding it weeks later! Not a great help as it’s normally out of date information and I need to start again 😂

Well, when I'm having a mental block, I try to do some of these things:

Sleep more than I usually do in my routine, because a rested head thinks better.

Look at all the possible social networks for news, what people are sharing, this can help give me an idea.

Talk to someone close to me, ask them if they have any stories or something interesting that can be shared, and then I create something out of it.

I've definitely been a little more sleep deprived lately, so more sleep wouldn't be bad.

I'll have to look at the news feeds and see if I can find some inspiration from them.
