Can the music industry become any better

Isn't it funny how nonsense things are trending and creativity is ignored... A few months ago, I watched a girl's video on TikTok, she said she had been showing her art for a long time on TikTok but she didn't get likes on it then one day, she just wanted to catch a cruise, and rub cake on her face and boom, the post went viral and that was how she turned herself to cake girl and start displaying all sort of madness using cake online and guess what? All the cake videos went viral and it was in one of her posts she told the story of how she was an art lover and she opened a Tiktok account to display her art but it didn't gain attention the way she wanted it....

I am just surprised at the things that go viral nowadays, at some point this year, ladies started to show their breasts online just to go viral and they tagged it as a mistake when it was obvious it was intentionally done... People don't care about creativity and good things anymore, they just follow the trend, and in the era that we are, only bad and nonsensical things trend.

Let's dive into the music world, you can also see the kind of songs that have been trending, one example is Zazu sang by Portable. All Nigerians know the song, it has no meaning yet it trend and made the musician big in the industry, can anyone tell me the meaning of Zazu koko Tua, we have people singing meaningful songs but they did not make it cos it was not worldly songs... I have seen people change the kind of song they produce because they feel that the world doesn't appreciate what they make so they also decide to follow the trend and that is why people just find good beats add stupid lyrics and create a song. Most people don't care about lyrics, they just want to shake their body to the beat.

I missed the day of Psquare, 2face, and the likes, African queen was one of the best hits in their era and if you listen to the song now, you will still feel the lyrics, no one like you by Psquare and so many others... they can't be compared with Zazu ze.

To be fair, we still have good musicians like Alan Walker dropping hit songs back to back with meaningful lyrics, even here in my country, we have good musicians that drop nice songs just that they are not many, and 50 percent just sing rubbish when I say rubbish, I mean those that use sex talk as their song lyrics, they don't feel shame to mention any part of the body in their songs and their song is not healthy and good for the young ones.

I don't think it can be helped unless the government starts banning some songs and also gives a big penalty to people who use foul and bad language in songs.

Talking about music for me there are many meanings stored in each verse, of course by following the music trends that of course we will know more, I like the current music trends there are many good lyrics with soothing rhythms.

I guess it depends on the genre and the musicians....

seriously i miss the old days where music give hope to people most of the music i listen to of recent are so meaningless to my greatest surprise the tend and the cash out.

zazu ze, ko to pua lol

Trends now overshadow creativity, but real art like 2Face lasts. Supporting real talent is the best.

yea, everyone just want to trend and people accept nonsense more nowadays... that is the world we live in

Exactly, the right word. But it's well actually.

To be honest I also don't know why one music becomes trendy for no reason. I am not a follower of trends when it comes to music. I agree the beat and base of music in recent times are good but what is good of music if the music hasn't good lyrics?

people just want to shake their body and dance to the beat xd

95% of things that trend these days is meaningless
People have lost value in meaningful things

It's a really crazy state we're in with the music industry in general. For me, I tend to see it as music has also lost its soul/spirit. Empty lyrics, superficial songs.

not all, but most
