Last week was a hectic week for me and my family because my sister got married. Even now that am posting this, am still recovering from the stress that I passed through during the time of preparation for the marriage. As the first son of the family and my father is late, I'm the one representing my Dad in this case. You can imagine a young lad like me playing the role of a father. I'm from the Eastern part of Nigeria and we have our own unique way of marriage and our beliefs about marriage.
Before the coming of Christianity and church, we Igbo have our own way of marriage according to our tradition. Now that Christianity is here, we still adhere to our traditional way of marriage, the difference now is that after the traditional marriage, the church marriage otherwise called the white wedding which happens in the church comes in to seal the marriage in the presence of the Lord for christians.
The pictures above was taken during my sis traditional marriage in Igbo culture. I have too much pictures of the event but let me post these ones for now. I'm going to write more about the event and Igbo traditional marriage later. Our in-laws came with Ogene people.
Finally I'm grateful to God almighty for the success of the event. This phase has passed successfully. Marriage is a beautiful thing and it's always better when a man have to to age of marriage not to remain single but find a partner to build a home. I wish my sister a happy married life and blessings that comes with marriage.
Happy Sunday and thanks for passing by
