Hey guys, today I'll be doing a review on a japanese sports genre anime, to be exact, a Basketball anime series. I'm a huge of basketball so this anime is on point for me. But even if you don't like basketball, this series is still one of the 'a watch anime series' and I'll tell you why so, let's get to it.
Ahiru no Sora was released in 2019 by Diomedea Animation Studio following the manga adaptation that was written by Takeshi Hinata back in 2003. The anime was aired from October 2019 until September 2020 with 50 episodes.

Plot:
Sora Kurumatani a very short boy compared to most of his other friends, made a promise to his mother. He said that he will dominate his first high school tournament. But as he joins the basketball club after entering Kuzuryuu High School, he finds out that it’s become a stomping ground for pro players. As it is place filled with deliquents where everything but basketball is done. But with Sora’s genuine eagerness for basketball, things begin to stir. He joined the club and his life was changed forever.
Review:
At the beginning of the series, Sora got criticized alot. Since basketball has always been a game of height and physique, Sora doesn't fit into any of that category because he has a small build and was weak. But he makes up for his weaknesses with a lot of hardwork (...i mean alot) and it yielded well which makes him have a very high shooting percentage, and his accuracy is not something to joke about.

Another problem that arises at beginning of the series was that it almost seem impossible to keep his promise to his mom because kuzuryuu highschool basketball club was only filled with deliquents who doesn't care about basketball. So it took alot if efforts to revive the basketball team and during the process, sora found out that a twin brothers who were deliquents use to be a basketball players in middle school. It took awhile but, Sora's dedication inspired his other club members /teammates to give basketball their all. Though they had a very difficult start, because most of them lacked proper training and some of their players knew nothing about about basketball. Along the way, they got a manager/coach and new talents joined the team, and they went through alot of trials individually, and as a team.
One of the things i enjoy about the series is, how the series covers some of the rules and the roles of each position on a standard basketball team so, it will be understandable for someone who knows little or nothing about basketball while watching the series. The protagonist is a very likable character who worked very hard to make up for his weaknesses. I can't even cover up everything in the anime but, I highly recommend it and i promise you won't be disappointed. Since the first adopted season covers about 18 volumes, with about 33 volumes remaining I'm sure there'll be more. Although, there's still no news on the release date of the second season due to some problems, the show has not cancelled yet.
