Rebellion Reward Card Reviews: Halfling Refugee

Card Review of Halfling Refugee

Here I will review my favorite Rebellion reward card, in my opinion is the strongest(relative to his mana cost) it is card that I use more, probably the more used overall but I have not check it, I play with maxed out decks and only the level 1 is very helpful I even chose it this level 1 instead of others maxed out cards, it is probably the best 1 mana cost of the game excellent for low mana battles, on high mana cost battles you will find you using this card less but still sometimes there will be 1 mana cost left for the last spot and this one even in low level end been your best choice for that spot.

Strengths

Halfling Refugee have the highest health of any 1 mana cost card just in level 1 , even surpass lots of 2 mana cost cards, it can be used just to tank some damage in the front or in the back , he also can deal higher damage than any other 1 mana cost card even with his Weary weakness, he will see more play on low mana cost battles, can be used as the tank to spend more mana on your attackers and kill your opponent pretty fast, as all the cards with Weakness they are pretty strong on the Back to the Basics ruleset, I think is quite overpower for normal battles but is quite insane on a low mana cost battle with Back to the Basics ruleset, if you have it on level 3 on higher it will lose his heal on this ruleset but it still incredible strong without it.

weaknesses

Battles of very high mana cost, if there is not 1 mana cost left you probably will end using something of higher mana cost, you will never see this card or any low mana cost card on a 99 mana cost battle.

Equality ruleset: on this ruleset his high health is not very effective and you main find your self using Chaos Agent over him.

There are others cases where you may be using Chaos Agent over him but you can also use both as they together will absorb a lot more damage than a 2 mana cost.

Strategists:

As I mentioned use him to absorb lot of damage for his mana cost in front or in the back, safe lot of mana using him as a tank and put a stronger offensive to win the battle easily.

Lore:

Since the Chaos Empire conquered Praeotria, the land has seen a refugee crisis the likes of which it has never before known. With major cities and smaller villages alike torn apart by war, famine, and disease, very few sanctuaries remain.

In the Great Lowlands, many of these refugees travel to Fireboro, where the republic’s former chancellor and those loyal to him have established safe havens for those who lost their homes to the empire. Among them are the Republic of Fireboro’s Praetorian halflings, whose shires were mostly destroyed by the legions of Chaos. They remain defiant, yet it’s hard to keep fighting the good fight when you’ve lost everything you hold dear.

On this battle me and my opponent when for the back and Halfling Refugee cover my Pelacor Bandit long enough so my team can take down his sneak attackers and win the battle easily.

On this battle we can see how superior is him in level 1 against a another maxed out of 1 mana cost that is even buffed by his summoner.

Level I currently have it: level 2
