Fray 12 on a fray 10 budget
🐲 Brawl Report 🐲
I moved into fray 12, gold modern, a few Brawls ago and have had mixed results. I battle regularly in gold for daily battles, but my deck is not optimized for gold, particularly against seasoned Brawlers. I may have to start renting hihger level summoners and cards for Brawls until I can slowly build up my collection. In the mean time I am using every strategy and ruleset to my advantage to try and make my silver level deck more competitive in gold...
Observe the rulesets to gain an advantage
Contessa v Kelya |
To have a chance in fray 12 on a budget I have to take advantage of every opportunity handed to me. In this case I used the Going the Distance ruleset to my advantage. Quix would have been a nice option as well, but I choose Contessa for the same range debuff. My opponent went with Kelya, which doesn't offer the same debuff, but Water does hav esome higher health range cards. Plus my opponent had a level six Kelya to my level 1 Contessa. So how did it go...
Round 1 - My opponent has higher level and health cards, but thanks to Ravenhood's Protect I have more armor. Round one is all about my opponent and I taking each other's armor down.
Round 2 - I draw first blood taking out Mantoid, but my opponent's Cripple is starting to wear on me and Gargoya Devil's armor is gone.
Round 3 - Drybone moves into the first row as Gargoya Devil falls, but thanks to his double attack I now have the only melee attacking card in play.
Round 4 - We both start the round with five cards. Drybone's Double Strike brings home a win buy taking out Gargoya Devil and Angelic Madarin. As the round comes to a close I still have five cards, but my opponent is down to three.
Round 5 - My opponet's Merdamphir is in the tank position and is up to ten health thanks to Life Leech making for a solid tank. Unfortunately for my opponetn Scattershot means the tank isn't quite as important. No one takes any losses this round, but I am able to clear Merdamphirs armor and bring it's health down to six.
Round 6 - Supply Runner falls on my first attack, but my opponent quickly counters by taking out my Stalker and they have Bloodlust activate. I struggle with three misses on Maerdhampir and my lead is starting to shrink,
Round 7 - Merdhampir falls quickly this round and now the rest of the battle is a formality as my opponent cannot attack from the front with a ranged attacker.
Battle MVPs
The new rewards cards are going to be another key for me to be competitive at the higher fray. Not only are the cards strong, but with the ability to win several of them in each chest it is quickler to level them up.
😔 😔 2—5. Not my best showing 😔 😔
I guess this is going to happen sometimes in fray 12 on a fray 10 budget 🤷♂ Good strategy will only take me so far. Time to get to work upgrading summoners I guess.
I was shocked to see we scored 120 points and finished in seventh place. Even more reason I need to step up and bring more point home for the team.

🍕🍕🍕 What is PIZZA? 🍕🍕🍕
As with most activities connected to Hive, and the crypto world in general, I discovered PIZZA because of Splinterlands. Also like most Hive connected activities I discovered a world of possibilities beyond what I expected. So what exactly is PIZZA?
1️⃣ PIZZA is a trade-able token that can be staked for rewards and tipping, used to purchase games or traded for other tokens.
2️⃣ PIZZA is also an active Discord community for gamers and creatives. (I personally frequent the foodies-lounge, splinterlands and rising-star channels)
What are you waiting for, come check out the PIZZA Discord and join in the fun 🎉
