PKM Tournaments are the Best

I don't play in a ton of tournaments, but I look forward to the three PKM tournaments each month. The below battle was from the third and final January event which was a Silver/Wild tournament.

Tarsa v Quix

Why Did I choose Tarsa?

Well, my options were limited. I own Tarsa and lately I have been renting Sthispa. I haven't pulled the trigger yet and purchased a Quix, so I had two options. 29 was not the strongest mana count for the Dragon cards I have and that left me with Tarsa. To best play off Tarsa's buffs I leaned into melee heavy attacks.

CardNotes
I like to play Scorcher up front and possibly take out my opponents heavy armor in the tank position. At three speed it doesn't always get a shot in before being blasted, but when it works it helps clear the front quicker.
It's Grum, no explanation necessary 😀
Using Reach in the third position may seem odd, but Scorcher should have a short life up front so this should only be one round of not attacking. If Scorcher takes out the opponent's armor up front it will be worth it.
Spy is quick and if the opponent has a lot of low mana back row cards it can do a lot of damage!
More good back row damage
Using Scorch in the back as a neat shield in case my opponent has some sneak attacks.

My Opponent goes with Quix

This is an example why I don't lean heavily on the debuff summoners. Don't get me wrong they can be great, Thaddius for example is a beast, but essentially half of my opponent's summoner advantage is useless in this case.

Round 1 - Right out of the gate Scorcher is smoked. My opponent didn't have any armor up front so not a huge loss and Scorcher was able to take two hits before falling. Spy is able to take out my opponent's Fiend and Grum makes a first round kill and activates Bloodlust. My opponent is already down to just Titan and Forgotten One. Both beefy cards, but I have five solid cards left to take them out.

Round 2 - Forgotten one is not a concern in the back row and I am able to knock Titan down to 2 health without losing a card.

Round 3 - Brute takes down Titan and Spy sets Grum up for the last kill.

Results — My opponent had two beefy cards, but one of them couldn't attack until it was int he front row, and by that time it was way too late. Using Tarsa's buff allowed me to quickly take my opponent out, even with some smaller cards. Death by 1000 cuts 😀

Tournaments Payout

For an entry fee of 4PKM I was able to take home 1SPS and 25PKM. On top of that I was able to take part in 21 battles against stiff competition to further my learning and fun. If you haven't taken part in the monthly PKM tournaments I recommend keeping your eyes open for the February options and getting in on the fun and payouts!
