Hello Splinterlands folk, this is a new series I started that will focus about the card I like from the Chaos Legion pack, which I would consider one of the best card based on my opinion and preferences. This post is mostly similar to my battle post except I will talk about reasons why I think these card are the best, its price and slightly in depth review.
Before I start, I would like to give credit to
@cieliss, since I use some of her format in this post. Go check on her post since she is a great writer and blogger. Her post give me a lot of inspiration to me and she also help me a lot by giving advices on how to improve my blogging.
Most card with 5 mana or below are rarely come with 2 or more ability especially from Dragon splinter. With Flying and Void ability combined, it will not only able to evade from range and melee attack, it also able to withstand damage dealt by other mage making it more powerful despite only cost only 5 mana. I won a lot games with Void Dragon as my tank and most of the time it able to survive until the end of the match. Below comparison solely based on my strategy and preferences, but for me, Void Dragon is much better card/monster than Scale Doctor due to the fact that it is a mage and also able to become a tank in low mana match.
Most of the card from previous pack cost fortune to buy, but due to the fact that this card is still printing it is super cheap compare to other Dragon card based on similar mana and rarity. So, for those who want to tip their toe into investing into Dragon splinter, Void Dragon is great card to start.
Dragon splinter for me is the best splinter in my opinion also for many player. So, those factor alone making it more desirable and thus making it hard to get without paying a huge price for it. Dragon splinter give a surprise factor to opponent, making it harder for them to guess our strategy. As you can see above, Dragon splinter card is mostly one of the expensive card and you can see the huge price jump from Chaos Legion card to Untamed card there.
As Uul waited for the next rift to open and for the assault to begin he grew bored. Reaching for the roiling fumes above, he scooped a generous portion from the sky and toyed with it, morphing the noxious cloud into different shapes. When a fell bat swooped by, he tossed the energy that had grown within the swirling mist at the creature, and the two collided in a fusion of angry hisses. What flew out of the resultant vapours was truly a marvel indeed. A sleek, almost feline body cavorted through the air; with multiple eyes and a peculiar bat-like snout, it was a dragon dissimilar to any that had come before. And it was of his own doing. Uul’s open maw twisted and stretched into what only could be described as a smile, as his new-born phased in and out of existence through the night’s shroud above.
There is talk that since the rise of Praetoria and the formation of the chaos gate, strange demons have been sighted amongst the clouds above the new continent. Some have described them as huge bat-like creatures with incredible speed, others swear they are flying invaders from the other world, but to the scholars in Draykh-Nahka who have seen their images there is no doubt, these are new, uncatalogued sub-species of dragon. For reasons unknown, these creatures spend most of their time hidden within the clouds, but from the limited studies done, it is evidenced they have a strong resistance to magic and a predilection for hunting at night when the moon is full.
OVERVIEW AND STATS
Card level shown above is at max level
When at max level, it have 3 ability which are Flying, Void and Phase. It also have 2 magic attack, 5 speed and 9 hit points. It offer so much value to any team since it only cost 5 mana. With low mana consumption, this card would be use quite often in most of strategy and ruleset.
FLYING
Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability +25% chance of evading. Cumulative with Dodge and Blind, to get up to + 65% chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks. Summoner Brighton Bloom gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle. A fast monster with Flying and Dodge will be very hard to hit by Melee and Ranged attacks. Snare can remove Flying. Does not work against enemies that have Flying itself. It does not affect magic attacks.

VOID
Reduced damage from Magic attacks Attack damage gets halved (rounded up), except attack 1 which deals 0 damage Summoner Mimosa Nightshade gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle

PHASE
Magic attack can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks)

RULES AND STRATEGIES
1. The rule of the match is standard, which means all the gameplay and mechanics of the game is normal. It is normal to have standard ruleset in Bronze 2 and below.
2. The mana cap of the match is 26 mana. I think it is not that difficult since I could make a lot of great team from it since I have quite a few of great low mana monster.
3. Lastly, all splinter are open for me to choose from. I decided to choose dragon splinter and pair up with earth team because I tired to assembles a mage team.
LINE UP
My team at the top
DRAKE OF ARNAK
Drake of Arnak cost 4 mana and give +1 armor. I pick it because I wanted to use dragon deck and also with +1 armor bring a lot of advantage to my team since my team is gonna be fill a lot of mage. Any improvement in defense will bring a lot of advantage to my team.
VOID DRAGON
It cost 5 mana, have 1 magic damage, 5 speed, huge 7 hit point and have 2 abilities which are Flying, Void. I choose this monster because mana to hit point ratio is great, 5:1. Plus it have 2 abilities which is crazy good for any card cost 5 mana. I placed it as a tanks because it could handled any monster very well although it is not a dominant tank, it could managed archer or melee damage since it have great speed and Flying ability. On top of that, Void will help it to reduce received damage from any mage attack.
REGAL PERYTON
I placed it as back tank to my Void Dragon. Because it only cost 5 mana and have 5 speed combined with Flying ability which will help it avoid chances increases even more from an archer or melee attack. If also could protect from the back since most sneak monster will have hard time to hit Regal.
GOBLIN PSYCHIC
With 2 magic damage and healing ability, Goblin Psychic is must have monster in the team for any match that is above 25 mana match. Not only it prolonged my tank life, it also dealt 2 magic damage to enemy. It does help to my tank since magic damage can not miss and it alos will penetrate armor.
KHMER PRINCESS
I pick mostly to increase magic damage for my team. It only cost around 2 mana only and a great card to add to any of my strategy most of the time.
MYCELIC MORPHOID
This card is pick mainly to absorb attack of sneak and opportunity monster. Cost only 1 mana with 2 hit point is a great trade off.
DJINN BILJKA
No need to mentioned much about this card, this card is super underrated right now and better buy it since it super cheap. Camouflage ability thus help my team to deal damage without knowing of enemy monster, that put me in better position in most match.
THE MATCH
This match is to show example on how I would use my Void Dragon. Also, to show how effective it is when it became a tank. Enjoy my little gif below! You could watch the full match with preferred speed using my link below.
