Hi,
Today's post is my entry to the Qurator's Photo Quest organized by @qurator and this week is about Shallow DOF.
Qurator Photo Quest: Shallow DOF
As an amateur photographer, certain technicalities I have been learning through participating in the various #Hive photo contests and this particular one I did not know, but I had been applying it in my photographs mainly portraits because the blurring of the background of the image enhances the protagonist of the scene.
Sometimes, when I walk around the city and I come across some interesting statue and I don't have my camera with me with my cell phone, I look for that background blur effect. In my case with the iPhone 13 I select the studio light portrait option.
But I have practiced background blur the most with my camera while walking through the parks and especially when there are very peaceful animals that do not run away from me as it happened to me with this duck in a park in the city of Seville.
As I told you, in these two years in the blockchain I have learned a lot about photography, and sometimes I regret not having applied this concept of background blur before.
But for those who do not want or can not invest in a powerful photo editor I recommend opening your photos on your computer with the standard Windows photo editor and after indicating that you want to edit the photo go to the edit background tool. With it, you will be able to blur the background, and you will be able to give a new life to that picture you have taken without blurring the background.
Besides, you can also edit it to crop it, edit contrast, brightness or apply an attractive filter such as putting the photo in black and white.
However, if you have a camera, experiment with it, play with the aperture and focus, and wild flowers and garden flowers are very good allies. They will be great models to learn how to take better photos every day.
And never close the door to creativity. If you get creative, you can even frame the sun with an out-of-focus landscape in the background.
Best regards.
